Conceptual Designs and Architectural Explorations
We believe architecture happens in the sketches and debates before the first brick is laid. Here is a look at our process and experimental concepts that push our design boundaries.
A minimalist interior from the 'House Above the Tree' project, featuring a wide, inhabitable staircase and clean, simple lines. The design prioritizes a sense of calm and spaciousness.
A dog explores the light-filled stairwell of the 'House Above the Tree'. The perforated wall creates a dynamic play of light and shadow, turning a functional space into an interactive experience.
A stylized, artistic photograph of the Aayi House, emphasizing its strong geometric forms and minimalist aesthetic. The image captures the quiet poetry of the architecture.
A sectional drawing of the Aayi House, illustrating the design's focus on natural ventilation and visual connectivity between spaces.
A partial elevation drawing for a proposed institute in Goa. This drawing explores the facade composition and its relationship with the surrounding landscape.
Another sectional drawing for the Goa institute, showcasing the building's interaction with the natural slope of the land and the lush, tropical environment.
A rendering of a courtyard at the Hoodi Convention Center, showing the clean lines of the architecture and the integration of small trees within the paved area.
An exterior rendering of the Hoodi Convention Center, highlighting the modern, barn-like form of the main hall.
A detail rendering of the facade at the Hoodi Convention Center, showing the texture and pattern of the wall panels.
A rendering of an intimate outdoor space at the Hoodi Convention Center, complete with a small pool and green lawn, designed for relaxation and small gatherings.
About Additional Work & Concepts
These concepts are not just ideas on paper. They are where we test how light, landscape, and structure interact before we even break ground. For instance, in our Goa institute study, the sectional drawings helped us figure out how to work with the natural slope of the land rather than leveling it, preserving the site's original character while creating a functional learning environment.
Architecture is as much about what you leave behind as what you build. In this collection, you will find our experimental works in progress, including the design stages for the Hoodi Convention Center and our institute project in Goa. When we design, we start with a conversation and a sketch. We use diagrams, models, and 3D renderings to understand a site's constraints and potential.
Take the Hoodi Convention Center concept. We wanted to preserve a tree within the building's footprint, so we played with the form to wrap the structure around it, ensuring the tree became the center of the entrance hall. In our sectional studies for the Goa project, the focus was on how the building sits on a sloping site. Instead of fighting the terrain, we designed the structure to step down, allowing natural light to penetrate deeper into the building while minimizing excavation. These explorations allow us to refine our approach to materiality, specifically how brick, concrete, and steel age within our climate. Every drawing here serves a purpose—to find the most efficient and meaningful way to build. If you have a site you are looking to develop, looking at these concepts might give you an idea of how we think about space, light, and context.
