A Glimpse into Our Shala Life
At Ashtanga Yoga Sadhna, the practice extends far beyond the mat. Explore the quiet corners, community moments, and the daily discipline of our JP Nagar shala.
A video tour of our shala, from the entrance sign to the practice hall where pranayama and meditation take place. This is a journey from the outside world to a space of inner stillness.
We welcome you to Ashtanga Yoga Sadhana, a serene space to cultivate inner peace and escape the chaos of modern life.
Our slow breathing group practice is an inclusive space where breath meets awareness. We move slowly, guided by mantras, to find stillness in movement and balance in breath.
Yoga is the best gift we can give ourselves. It is a complete system that nurtures our entire being, bringing balance to body, mind, and soul.
The light within matters most. Starting the day in silence and with movement, I am grateful for the practice, the teachings, and the community.
A beautiful new idol of Lord Buddha under the Bodhi Tree, gifted to our shala. It is a precious reminder that the Buddha's light shows us the way to be calm and peaceful.
A glimpse into the variety of teachings offered at our shala. From individual Mysore practice to kids' yoga and pranayama, we offer a path for everyone, whether a beginner or an advanced practitioner.
Gratitude for the practice of yoga, for a belief in a higher power, and for the community that offers support and shared growth. Thank you for all of it, the ups and the downs.
We are preparing for Yoga Day with dedicated Suryanamaskar practice. This discipline helps us break old habits and make space for progress and insight in our lives.
Peace after peace. This is what yoga is all about. After the effort of the practice, we find deep calm and rest in Savasana.
About Additional Moments
Our shala is designed to be a sanctuary, a sangha (community) where the walls hold the stillness of early morning practice and the shared effort of our students. When you step inside, you aren't just joining a fitness class; you are entering a space where we honor the traditional Mysore style and the individual pace of every practitioner. This gallery offers a quiet look at the discipline and peace we cultivate together every day.
Many people walk into a yoga studio expecting a gym-like atmosphere, but that is not what you will find here. Whether you are looking for Mysore style Ashtanga, gentle Hatha for stress relief, or a 21-day mindfulness course, the focus remains entirely on the process. We believe that growth happens slowly. The images here capture our daily routine: the pre-dawn silence before the first breath, the deep focus during Pranayama, and the quiet camaraderie that defines our space. We host special sessions for neurodivergent adults and women-only Hatha classes because I believe yoga must be accessible and welcoming to everyone, regardless of their starting point. The studio is filled with simple, intentional touches—like our small altar and the dedicated mat storage—that remind us of the spiritual roots of this practice. If you are near JP Nagar and looking for a place to build a consistent, disciplined practice that helps you slow down, come by to observe a class or join us for a session. We aren't here to perfect a pose, but to show up, breathe, and learn together.
Nitesh Batra
I am Nitesh. I started my own path in 2006, and today, I open my shala to anyone willing to show up and do the work. It is never about how flexible you are, but about how much you are willing to learn about yourself through the practice.
Finding the right practice takes time.
