We approach every commission as a conversation between light, material, and landscape, creating spaces that foster a quiet rhythm of slow living.

Our design for the Dua Villa in Alibag captures the dialogue between monumental form and the natural elements. The structure's arches are reflected in the tranquil water, creating a composition of rhythm and silence that defines the home's serene atmosphere.

Inside the Dua Villa, we used light as a primary building material. Clerestory windows and curved ceilings sculpt the interior, casting dynamic shafts of sunlight that transform the living space throughout the day, creating a home that feels alive and connected to the outdoors.

This tour of the Dua Villa reveals how architecture can foster a deep appreciation for nature. The home is a labyrinth of verandahs and arches looking out onto a landscape designed for nourishment, where residents can watch birds flit past and feel truly connected to their surroundings.

For The Ray Villa, we designed a lightweight pavilion that seems to float above the landscape. The infinity pool merges with the horizon, blurring the boundary between the home and the sea, embodying our approach to creating tropical homes that are fully integrated with their environment.

The entrance to the Lurra House in Hyderabad is defined by a massive, natural boulder. This render shows our concept of building around and with the landscape, making the earth itself a fundamental part of the architectural experience.

In our Worli Duplex project, a sculptural, winding staircase becomes the central anchor in an urban setting. Its soft curves break the apartment's orthogonal geometry, showcasing how detailed craftsmanship can create a sense of calm and artistry amidst city life.

We believe architecture should age gracefully, with materials that tell a story over time. Here, we discuss our philosophy for The Ray Villa, where stone walls are designed to welcome the patina of time and allow the landscape to enclasp the structure, creating an evolving dialogue between nature and the home.

A quiet seating area at the Dua Villa, nestled within a lush garden. This space exemplifies our goal of blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living, creating verdant sanctuaries for slow, contemplative moments.

About Featured

We investigate site topography, wind patterns, and light quality before placing a single stone. This rigorous approach, validated by 1:100 scale balsa models, ensures every structural element—from cantilevered decks to courtyards—serves a distinct purpose, whether it is shading an interior from the Mumbai heat or framing a specific view of the Alibag landscape.

We treat each project as a unique dialogue between light and matter. Our urban work, such as the Worli Duplex, focuses on managing spatial flow within the constraints of high-rise living by using sculptural vertical connections to anchor the home. Conversely, our country retreats allow us to blur boundaries between the built form and the surrounding terrain. We prefer materials that age with grace, such as Kada lime plaster, raw stone, and charred timber. We believe architecture is not merely about erecting walls but about crafting an environment that encourages slow living and a deep appreciation for nature. Our practice remains grounded in the belief that nothing man-made should overwhelm the site. Instead, we aim to design homes that act as windows to the world outside, fostering a lifestyle that is quiet, restrained, and deeply connected to the environment.

We are a team split between Mumbai and Rotterdam, united by a love for exploring concepts through sketches and physical models. Shefali and Robert lead our vision, but every project involves the entire studio debating materials and details. We design sanctuaries intended for your daily life, not showrooms built for the public.
