Partner Yoga: Connect and Play
Yoga is always better when shared. Whether you want to deepen your trust with a partner or just have a good laugh with a friend, these sessions bring you closer through assisted stretches and playful poses.
A dynamic partner pose combining a mat-based downward dog with an aerial assist. This allows one partner to deepen their stretch while the other builds stability, all while working in sync.
The smiles say it all. This seated partner boat pose is a great way to work on core strength and balance together, requiring focus and a little bit of playful cooperation.
After a power packed aerial session, there's always time for some fun. Here are two friends enjoying a moment of rest and connection, cocooned together in the aerial hammocks.
About Partner Yoga: Connect & Play
It is amazing how much a little physical support can change your practice. In these sessions, we use each other’s weight to deepen stretches you might not manage alone, and the hammocks take that connection to a whole new level. It is less about showing off and more about finding that rhythm where you stop thinking and start moving in sync.
Moving Together
Partner yoga isn't just about doubling up on a mat; it is a practice of communication and trust. Whether you are bringing a friend, a family member, or a partner, the goal is to create a shared experience that goes beyond the physical.
We offer this in two formats:
- Mat-Based Partner Yoga: This focuses on Hatha-inspired alignment and assisted stretching. You will use each other’s bodies as a stabilizer, helping your partner safely ease into a deeper pose than they could reach alone. It builds deep trust and physical coordination.
- Aerial Partner Yoga: This is where we bring in the silk hammocks. It adds an element of playfulness—think suspended boat poses or shared cocoon rests. It is slightly more dynamic, perfect for those who want to laugh, try something new, and literally 'hang' out together.
Why Practice Together?
It is easy to get stuck in our own heads during a solo practice. When you practice with someone else, you have to stay present. You become responsible for your partner's balance and comfort, which naturally shifts your focus outward. This helps in releasing tension and, honestly, it is just a lot of fun.
We keep these sessions limited in size to ensure safety, especially when we are working with the aerial rigs. Whether you are looking to bond with a best friend or simply try something unique, these 'joyshops' are a great way to break the routine of a standard gym workout.
Everything we do at Anahata is about Lokāḥ samastāḥ sukhino bhavantu—may all beings be happy. Bringing a partner into your practice is one of the simplest ways to start that happiness right here, in the studio.
