Aerial Yoga for Spine Relief and Strength
Discover the freedom of moving with the support of a silk hammock. My aerial yoga classes help decompress your spine, build full-body strength, and allow you to explore inversions safely and playfully.
Hanging upside down is not just fun, it's fantastic for your spine. This inversion uses the aerial hammock to create space between the vertebrae, offering relief from back pain and improving posture.
Here you can see the therapeutic application of aerial yoga for spinal wellness. The hammock provides support to a participant, enabling gentle movement and alignment work that might be difficult on the mat.
A wonderful group of women getting ready to fly in an aerial yoga class. The energy in the studio is always so supportive and encouraging, especially when trying something new together.
This poster details my specialized Back and Spine Aerial Yoga Workshop. These sessions combine floor work and hammock poses specifically designed for spinal decompression, realignment, and pain relief.
About Aerial Yoga: Defy Gravity, Find Relief
Whether you are looking for relief from chronic back pain or simply want to shake up your fitness routine, my aerial classes use Unnata hammocks to help you safely decompress your spine. We keep sessions intimate, with a maximum of 8-10 people, so I can personally ensure your alignment is correct while you explore these new movements.
Yoga is about what you can do, not what you cannot. When you step into my studio at Vatika City Market, the first thing you will notice is the red silk rigging. These aren't just props; they are tools for alignment.
Aerial yoga, particularly the Back and Spine workshops, is effective because it uses gravity to create space between your vertebrae. This decompression offers relief that is hard to replicate on a standard mat. You don't need to be bendy to start. In fact, many of my students come in with stiff shoulders or desk-related back pain, and they find that hanging upside down for just a few minutes changes their entire day.
I structure my sessions to balance this therapeutic work with pure, unfiltered play. Sometimes we focus on gentle alignment, and other times we practice inversions just to laugh and feel like a child again. My goal is to help you feel 'Lokāḥ samastāḥ sukhino bhavantu'—which means 'may all beings be happy'—starting with your own body and mind. If you are nervous about your first time, do not worry. I am there to guide every transition, and we start with basic hammock trust exercises before moving to anything advanced.
