The Philosophy and Heart of Anahata Yoga
More than just aerial poses, this is about finding your inner strength. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking for a new way to move, Anahata is your space to grow, breathe, and just be.
The calm before the storm. Our red silks hanging and waiting for class to begin, ready to support, challenge, and cradle our students.
A little reminder of what truly matters. It's not about weight or size, but about muscle and bone strength, longevity, and happiness. This is the core philosophy of our practice.
My classes are designed to be accessible, even if the poses look intimidating. We start slow and build from the ground up, focusing on safety and personal progress.
If it's good enough for Mick Jagger at 78, it's good enough for anyone. Aerial yoga truly is a practice for all ages, helping to maintain flexibility and strength throughout life.
About Additional Work
The red silks aren't just props; they are the anchors of our practice. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, that hammock is designed to support you—not just physically while you invert, but mentally by creating a sense of safety. I like to keep our studio quiet and intentional before the flow begins, so you have space to settle in and leave the outside world at the door.
Anahata is a Sanskrit word meaning 'infinite' or 'unhurt', and that is exactly how I want you to feel when you walk into our studio at Vatika City Market. My approach to yoga is rooted in 'yogashchittavRuttinirodhaH', which is about calming the fluctuations of the mind. Aerial yoga is one of the most effective tools I have found to do this because it forces you to be present. You cannot worry about tomorrow when you are focused on balancing in a silk hammock.
People often look at the photos and worry they aren't strong or flexible enough. If Mick Jagger can practice aerial yoga at 73, I promise you can too. We don't focus on what your body cannot do. We focus on how the hammock can help you decompress your spine, build core strength safely, and finally let go of the tension you carry in your back and shoulders.
My classes, whether it is Hatha, Yin, or our signature Unnata aerial flows, are designed to be a community. We keep our aerial batches to a maximum of 4 students, which allows me to provide hands-on spotting and personalized adjustments. This isn't a gym where you blend into the background. It is a place where we move, breathe, and occasionally hang upside down to see the world from a different, happier perspective. Whether you are dealing with chronic back pain or just need a mental reset, there is a place for you on our mats.
Anahata
I’m Ruchie, and I started Anahata because I believe yoga should be accessible, playful, and deeply healing. I’ve seen firsthand how aerial yoga can offer relief to those with spinal injuries and how it can help complete beginners find their strength. I’m here to guide you through it, at your own pace, with no judgment.
