About Sangat: The Art of Accompaniment

Sangat is not just about keeping the beat. It is a deep, responsive conversation where I listen to the melody—whether it is a sitar, sarod, or vocal performance—and provide a rhythmic foundation that supports, never overpowers. When I am on stage, my focus is entirely on the main artist’s needs, ensuring that every stroke I play enhances the mood and flow of their performance.
