Advanced Chair & Tower Pilates
Ready to push past your limits? My advanced Chair and Tower sessions combine precise resistance with deep core control. Let’s build strength with purpose.
This advanced single leg squat on the Pilates chair is a powerful test of balance, control, and lower body strength. It activates deep stabilizing muscles in the standing leg and core while requiring precise neuromuscular coordination to execute smoothly.
Here I am performing a single leg tower and short spine sequence. This advanced movement on the Cadillac machine targets the hamstrings and deep core muscles, requiring a great deal of control to lift and lower the legs against the spring tension.
About Advanced Chair & Tower Pilates
These sessions go beyond the basics of mat work. By using the Cadillac’s tower springs and the Wunda Chair’s resistance, we isolate stabilizing muscles that are often neglected. You aren't just moving; you are learning how to control your body’s alignment under tension. This is the secret to building functional, real-world strength that supports you inside and outside the studio.
Why Chair & Tower Pilates?
If you have built a foundation with mat pilates, the apparatus is your next step. The equipment here at my Kaizen Goa studio isn't just for show. The Wunda Chair and Cadillac tower allow us to manipulate spring tension, which creates a specific type of challenge for your deep core and stabilizing muscles.
The Equipment Advantage
- Wunda Chair: Excellent for unilateral training. My single-leg squat variations on the chair force your body to fix imbalances, as one side cannot compensate for the other.
- Cadillac & Tower: The springs provide resistance that mimics real-life movement patterns while allowing for tactile feedback. This is essential for exercises like the short spine, where you need to articulate your vertebrae while working against tension.
My Approach to Advanced Training
I come from a background of both intense sports science and deep yoga study. When we move to the tower or chair, I apply that same philosophy of 'Kaizen'—the idea of getting 1% better every session. We don't rush. We focus on form, breathing, and that mental 'sukoon' (peace) that comes when your body and mind are finally in sync.
Whether you are training for injury rehabilitation, looking to break through a fitness plateau, or wanting to refine your movement quality, these sessions are designed to be intense but sustainable. My sessions are about building a body that lasts, not just one that looks good for a photo. We will work hard, we will burn, and we will find the balance between strength and flexibility.
Yoga & Pilates by Rohit
I'm Rohit. I’ve spent years exploring movement, from my PhD in Yoga to mastering the Cadillac and Tower here at Kaizen Goa. I don't believe in perfection—I believe in getting 1% better every day. If you’re ready to stop guessing and start training with intention, let's get on the mat together.
