Fun and Focus: Kids Yoga Classes in Mayur Vihar
Yoga for children is about finding joy, building confidence, and staying calm. My studio sessions mix movement, play, and mindfulness to help your child grow from within.
This young yogini demonstrates a beautiful sequence, moving from a seated meditative pose to a wall-assisted backbend and handstand. Using the wall as a prop is a wonderful way for children to build confidence and explore advanced postures safely. Her smile at the end says it all; it is about finding joy in the practice.
I encourage every child to be the artist of their own life, and yoga is one of their tools. This video showcases a student moving gracefully through a series of advanced backbends on her mat. Each movement helps improve her spinal flexibility, strength, and body control in our kids yoga class.
Age is just a number when you are dedicated to your health. This student shows great energy and effort as she works on core-strengthening poses like Navasana (Boat Pose) and flexibility postures like Halasana (Plough Pose). These exercises are fundamental for building a strong foundation for more advanced yoga practice.
About Fun & Focus in the Studio
Here is the truth about my classes: I do not care about perfect postures or rigid alignment. Whether your child is roaring like a lion or struggling with a balance pose, the goal is simple movement and getting them away from screens. I provide hands-on tactile adjustments to help them feel the stretch safely, ensuring they leave the mat feeling better than when they arrived.
Building Wellness from Within
For me, yoga is a journey of the self, through the self, to the self—even for the little ones. In my studio at Absolute Fit, Mayur Vihar, I teach kids that yoga is not just exercise. It is a way to find their own inner light, or Atma Deepo Bhava.
What Happens in a Session?
Classes are a mix of energy and calm. We start with playful animal poses to build core strength and flexibility, then move into structured asanas. But it doesn't stop at physical movement. We integrate breathing exercises, Om chanting, and memory games to help calm their minds and improve focus. Sometimes, we even blend in art and craft to help them express their creativity.
Why Start Early?
- Emotional Balance: Breathing techniques help kids handle stress and emotions.
- Core Strength: Poses like Chakrasana (Wheel Pose) improve posture and spinal health.
- Confidence: We celebrate effort, not perfection. This helps children build a positive relationship with their bodies.
We keep groups small to ensure every child gets the attention they need. Whether it is a monthly subscription or a trial session, my focus remains on building a foundation of wellness that will stay with them for life. If you have been looking for a safe, non-judgmental space for your child to develop, I invite you to join us.
