Yoga Classes in Gunjur, Bangalore
Whether you are a beginner or want to deepen your practice, I help you focus on anatomy, safety, and consistent progress at my Gunjur studio.
This is Savita ji. At 65 years old, she asked me, "Will I be able to do it?" My answer is always the same: "Just come." This video shows her holding Bakasana (Crow Pose) for a full 10 seconds. Her journey is a testament to the fact that age is no barrier; what truly matters is your spirit and consistency.
My own practice is the foundation of my teaching. Here, I'm in a variation of Pincha Mayurasana, or forearm stand, focusing on core control and shoulder stability. Mastering advanced asanas myself allows me to guide you safely and effectively toward your own goals.
This is what consistent practice and surrender look like. Here is my student Nivedita's journey into Poornadhanurasana (Full Bow Pose) over one year. Progress isn't about speed; it's about showing up for yourself every single day. I am so proud of her dedication.
Here is a step-by-step tutorial for Astavakrasana, or Eight-Angle Pose. My teaching style is direct and focuses on proper alignment to build strength safely. I break down complex poses so that students at all levels can understand the mechanics and work at their own pace.
In my studio, we welcome every body type and age. This clip shows our community in action, with some students working on arm balances while others use props like chairs to safely deepen their splits. We celebrate individual progress, not perfection.
This shows my own journey with drop backs, from my first attempt in 2020 to now. I started my yoga journey feeling stiff and unsure, so I understand the doubt. It’s not about achieving a pose, but about the awareness you build along the way.
Nothing makes me prouder than hearing from my students. This is what they have to say about their journey with me, from gaining confidence and strength to learning advanced poses they once thought were impossible. Their stories are the true measure of my success.
About this collection
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all yoga. In my studio, we use props like rope walls, chairs, and foam blocks to adapt every pose to your unique body, not the other way around. Whether you are 18 or 70, you will get hands-on alignment corrections that make sense for your anatomy, ensuring you build strength safely.
Your Practice, Your Pace
Many people hesitate to start because they think they need to be flexible or fit. My response is simple: "Aap bas aa jao" (You just come). I started with a stiff body, so I understand the doubt. My classes in Gunjur are designed to break the myth that yoga is only for the already flexible.
How We Train
My teaching style is direct. I will push you, and yes, you might get a little 'daant' (scolding) if your alignment is off. This isn't about being mean, it is about keeping you safe. We focus on:
- Anatomy-First Learning: You won't just hold poses; you will learn the muscle engagement and joint movement behind them.
- Prop-Assisted Depth: Using Iyengar-style ropes and chairs helps you go deeper into stretches than you might achieve alone, regardless of your experience level.
- Consistent Growth: We keep class sizes small (capped at 25) so I can actually see you, correct you, and help you improve.
Membership & Community
We operate on a model of consistency. Whether you sign up for a single month or an annual package, the goal is to show up. My studio is a space for everyone, from college students to seniors in their 70s. We don't chase perfection; we chase the awareness that comes with daily practice.
If you are ready to stop chasing poses and start understanding your own body, come join us at the studio.
