Student Transformations: Real Progress Stories
Success here isn't about perfect poses. It’s about the journey—from feeling stiff on day one to finding real strength in your practice. See how my students have grown.
This is what consistency and body awareness can achieve in one year. I am so proud to see my student Abhilasha progress from a modified practice to holding a strong Eka Pada Bakasana (One-Legged Crow Pose).
Strength doesn't come in a certain size; it comes from belief and consistency. Watch Shri Laxmi's inspiring headstand journey, proving that yoga is for every body. Her determination is a lesson for us all.
You don't need to be flexible to start yoga; yoga builds flexibility. This is my own four-year journey into Samakonasana (middle splits), a reminder that practice meets you where you are.
They said yoga is for the flexible, but I believe yoga is for the willing. This is my backbend transformation over four years, from a stiff beginning to a deep Natarajasana (Dancer's Pose).
I started my practice feeling stiff and unsure, especially in backbends. This video shows my journey over 4.5 years, proving that yoga is not for the perfect, but for those who are willing to try.
Meet Awadh ji, 60 years young. On his first day, he struggled with Chakrasana (Wheel Pose), but with the right guidance and his inspiring spirit, he is already making incredible progress. It is never too late to start.
Happy Women's Day to the strong women who redefine what's possible at every age. Here is my student Ratna ji at 65 and my mom at 60, both showing incredible strength and flexibility.
About this collection
You don't need a specific body type or flexibility level to start seeing these results. Whether it's Vidya ji at 65 mastering spinal mobility or Abhilasha nailing her Eka Pada Bakasana after a year, the common thread is consistency. When you join, we don't focus on achieving a perfect pose immediately; we focus on the props and alignments that get you there safely.
My approach to progress
I believe in measuring success by what you can do today that you couldn't do yesterday. At my studio on Varthur Main Road, we don't chase Instagram-perfect postures. Instead, we break down anatomy and muscle movement so you understand why a pose works.
Why students see results
- Props are mandatory, not optional: We use ropes, chairs, and blocks to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. This keeps your joints safe and allows you to practice even if you feel stiff.
- The 'Shashi' touch: Students often joke about my 'daant' (scolding), but they also know I’m the one pushing them to get their alignment right. I don't let you settle for lazy form.
- Inclusive for all: I have students in their 70s working alongside college students. We have kids with special needs and corporate professionals in the same space, all working at their own pace.
Consistency over intensity
Many people walk in thinking they need to be 'yoga-ready.' You don't. You just need to show up. Whether you are dealing with past injuries or just want to regain strength, the methodology remains the same: steady practice, proper anatomy, and a lot of patience. If you are ready to do the work, I am ready to guide you.
Shashi Prabha Dwivedi
I’m Shashi, and I’m in your corner—whether that means cheering you on or giving you that necessary nudge when you’re stuck. I don’t teach 'perfect' yoga; I teach real, anatomy-focused movement that respects your limits and builds your strength. My studio in Gunjur is a place where you show up as you are, and we work together to get you where you want to be.
