Therapeutic Yoga for Pain Relief & Posture in Bengaluru

Living with chronic back pain or desk-job stiffness is draining. I use the precision of Iyengar yoga and supportive props to help you recalibrate your body, release tension, and regain mobility—safely and at your own pace.

Poor posture is a common struggle in our modern, laptop-centric lives. In my classes, I use simple props like a yoga belt to bring awareness to alignment and help you build strength the right way, because mindful movement starts with mindful alignment.

Yoga therapy works best when it's tailored to you. This reel shows a routine I created for a student with knee pain, including variations of Downward Dog and Viparita Karani for knee rejuvenation. Props play a big role in supporting healing without strain.

Toxins and tightness can constrict blood vessels around your neck and face. By regularly practicing supported backbends like this Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose) on a chair, you stretch these muscles, improve circulation, and get a natural glow from within.

About this collection

Think of props not as shortcuts, but as essential tools that support your body while you heal. Whether it is using a metal chair to safely access a deep backbend or a belt to correct your shoulder alignment, these methods allow us to work around injuries and pain points, rather than pushing through them. My approach is about skeletal alignment and mindful movement, ensuring you walk away feeling lighter and more at home in your own skin.

Moving Beyond Generic Asanas

When you are dealing with chronic knee pain, slip discs, or the physical toll of a desk job, 'general' yoga classes can often do more harm than good. My therapeutic practice is rooted in the Iyengar tradition, which is renowned for its systematic approach to alignment. We do not just copy poses; we deconstruct them.

The Role of Props in Recovery

In my sessions, you will find chairs, bolsters, and belts everywhere. These are not props for beginners—they are intelligent tools. They help us:

  • Create Space: If you have back stiffness, wall ropes and chairs allow for traction, creating space between the vertebrae without heavy muscular strain.
  • Correct Mechanics: A belt can teach you how to engage your muscles correctly, preventing the 'collapse' that often causes injury during traditional poses.
  • Regulate the Nervous System: For those dealing with hormonal issues or high stress, restorative sequences using bolsters allow the nervous system to switch from 'fight or flight' to 'rest and digest.'

How We Work Together

Whether you join my small-group online sessions or choose a 1-on-1 rehab consultation, the focus remains on you. In group batches, the live video format allows me to provide real-time skeletal corrections. For 1-on-1 sessions, we begin with a deep-dive assessment of your medical history and MRI reports if necessary. My goal is to equip you with the knowledge to manage your pain independently, not to keep you dependent on classes forever.
