Building Strength and Flexibility Through Mindful Asana

Yoga asanas offer more than just physical movement; they build a foundation of strength and flexibility that supports your daily life. Whether you are working on mobility or simply need to release deep-seated tension, let's explore sequences that honour your body's limits.

Backbends like Chakrasana (Wheel Pose) teach us the balance of holding on and letting go. This practice helps open the heart, improve spinal flexibility, and expand our physical and mental horizons. I bend so I don't break.

Many of us hold stress and tension in our hips. This video demonstrates a hip-opening flow, including variations of pigeon and lizard pose, designed to release tightness, improve flexibility, and foster both physical and emotional release.

About this collection

I don't believe in forcing the body into predefined shapes. In my sessions, we use props like blocks and belts to support your alignment, ensuring you build strength safely without overstraining your joints or spine. This approach allows us to focus on the intent of the movement rather than the visual result.

Moving with Intent

Many of us come to yoga thinking we need to be flexible before we step on the mat. The reality is that the mat is where we build that flexibility, slowly and sustainably. My approach to asana focuses on 'Samatvam', or balance, ensuring that we never sacrifice the health of our shareer (body) for the sake of a pose.

Why Props Are Essential

We often rely on willpower to push deeper into a stretch, which can lead to injury. Using props like blocks, straps, and wall support is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of intelligence. Props allow us to access the benefits of a pose—like a deeper hip stretch or an open chest—without causing tension in other areas. Whether we are working on backbends for spinal health or deep hip-opening flows to release emotional and physical stress, props ensure your practice remains sustainable.

Customised for You

No two bodies are alike, so no two sequences should be the same. During our sessions, we address your specific needs—whether it is stiffness from long hours at a desk, lower back pain, or a desire for better mobility. My sessions involve:

  • Warm-ups: Sukshma Vyayama to prepare your joints.
  • Asanas: A blend of Hatha and Vinyasa to build steady strength.
  • Modifications: Posture adjustments to suit your unique anatomy.
  • Closing: Guided Shavasana to integrate the effort.

Yoga is a journey of self-discovery, not a competition. If you are ready to start building a consistent practice that respects your limits and helps you grow, I am here to guide you.

Namaste. I am Parul, and I believe yoga is a journey of connecting with your own body rather than chasing perfect poses. After leaving my life as a CA, I shifted my focus to helping you find balance, whether you are dealing with back pain, seeking flexibility, or just need to destress through movement.
