Understanding the Philosophy of Yoga

Yoga is much more than poses on a mat. It is a pathway to equilibrium and self-awareness, where ancient wisdom meets your daily life. Let’s explore how these teachings can ground your practice and bring balance to your day.

The Bhagavad Gita teaches us, "Samatvam Yoga Uchyete," which means yoga is a state of equilibrium. This principle guides us to maintain a balanced mind through success and failure, pleasure and pain, fostering inner peace in all of life's circumstances.

A holistic yoga practice goes beyond asanas. I share five essential elements to include in your sessions, such as intention setting, breath work, and gratitude, to cultivate mindfulness, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to your practice.

Yoga has brought so much to my life, and it can for you too. In this video, I share the things I have gained, from boosted energy levels and increased strength to a greater sense of purpose and a deeper connection with myself.

My yoga journey has also been about letting go. I call this a "healthy loss," where I shed things that no longer served me, like attachment to outcomes and physical discomfort, creating space for positive change and personal growth.

About this collection

Many students come to me thinking yoga is only about flexibility. In my sessions, we start by setting an intention or 'sankalp,' which acts as our anchor. By grounding our physical movement in this specific focus, we ensure the practice serves your mental state just as much as your physical body.

You might be surprised to find that the most effective part of a yoga session happens before you even attempt a pose. Whether you are a beginner or someone looking to deepen their practice, integrating philosophy transforms exercise into a true wellness routine.

  • It’s Not Just Theory: We do not just talk about Sanskrit sutras. We apply them. When I reference 'Samatvam Yoga Uchyete' (balance is yoga), we use it to handle stress, manage work pressure, or navigate difficult personal times.
  • Customized for You: Whether you are looking for online sessions or home visits in Bengaluru, I tailor the philosophical guidance to your specific needs, be it stress management, PCOS support, or recovery from injury.
  • The Power of 'Healthy Loss': A key part of my teaching is learning what to let go of, whether it is the need for perfection or the pain we hold in our bodies. This is where real healing begins.

My background as a former Chartered Accountant taught me the value of structure and discipline, and I bring that same clarity to our sessions. We will work on your physical alignment while ensuring your mind feels calm and focused. If you are ready to move beyond the physical and find a practice that truly sustains you, let us talk about your goals.
