Personalized Yoga Therapy & Inner Alignment
Yoga isn't just about flexibility; it is about aligning your mind, body, and soul. Whether you are dealing with chronic pain, stress, or just need a pause from the daily rush, I am here to guide you back to your own center.
This is what yoga therapy is about for me: providing support and guidance so you can find your own strength and balance, even in the most challenging environments. Here, I am helping a student with a supported headstand (Sirsasana) against the backdrop of the Himalayas. It’s about building trust, ensuring safety, and making advanced postures accessible.
So much of our modern life is spent sitting, which can harm our spine and internal organs. In this video, I explain how a simple shift in your sitting posture can improve everything from your breathing and digestion to your energy levels. This is a fundamental step in my yoga therapy approach, addressing the root cause of many chronic issues.
In my group workshops, I make sure every student gets personal attention. Here, during a retreat in Thailand, I am providing a hands-on adjustment in a forward bend (Paschimottanasana) to help the student deepen the stretch safely and release tension in her lower back. My goal is to create a supportive and healing environment for everyone.
If you suffer from neck or shoulder pain due to long hours at a desk, a simple yoga belt can be a powerful tool for relief. I demonstrate how to use it to gently correct rounded shoulders and create a natural lift in the spine. This is a practical technique I teach to help you find relief from cervical pain and improve your posture throughout the day.
A session with me often ends with the calming vibrations of a singing bowl. This ancient sound healing practice helps quiet the mind, reduce stress, and guide you into a state of deep relaxation. It's the perfect way to integrate the physical work of the asanas and find a moment of true inner stillness.
Building strength and focus is just as important as flexibility. Bakasana, or Crow Pose, is a powerful arm balance that teaches you to trust your body and concentrate your mind. While it looks advanced, I guide my students step by step to build the core and arm strength needed to take flight.
Jal Neti is a traditional yogic cleansing technique (kriya) that I teach to help clear the nasal passages and sinuses. This practice is incredibly effective for combating allergies, colds, and the effects of pollution. In this outdoor session, you can see how we practice this simple yet powerful method for better respiratory health.
Aerial yoga adds a new dimension to the practice, using a silk hammock to support the body and allow for deeper stretches. Here, I am assisting a student in an extreme backbend, using the hammock to decompress the spine and open the heart safely. It’s a playful yet profound way to explore flexibility and defy gravity.
About Featured
Many people come to me looking to fix back pain or anxiety, but we start with a posture analysis. It is often a simple physical misalignment—a pelvic tilt or rounded shoulders from long hours of sitting—that is holding all that tension. My approach focuses on these specific physical corrections using props like rope walls, bolsters, and chairs, which immediately relieve the pressure and allow your body to heal naturally.
Yoga is not just exercise; it is an internal journey. My classes, whether 1-on-1 therapeutic sessions or group workshops, are designed to go beyond the surface of what you see in a fitness class. In my private sessions, we do not just stretch; we use specific props like yoga wheels and chairs to support the body, allowing you to release deep-seated muscle tension without risking injury. This is especially helpful if you are dealing with sciatica, cervical spondylitis, or chronic back pain from long desk hours.
We also integrate pranayama like Bhastrika to detoxify the body and sound therapy with Tibetan singing bowls to quiet the mind. If you are struggling with anxiety or sleep issues, we focus on grounding techniques like Anapana meditation to find stillness. You do not need to be flexible to start; you just need to be willing to align yourself. Remember, the goal is not to touch your toes, but to understand your own body. Whether you join me in my Vikaspuri studio or during our retreats, my commitment is to ensure you leave with more stillness than when you arrived.
