Yoga is not just following a video, it is about feeling the pose correctly. Here is how I work with students in the studio to safely deepen their practice and correct their alignment.

In our group classes, I make it a point to provide individual attention. Here, I am helping a student find a deeper, more aligned expression of Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog), ensuring their foundation is stable and their spine is lengthening correctly.

Safely guiding a student into an advanced backbend like Purna Shalabhasana (Full Locust Pose) requires trust and precise technique. This video demonstrates how I assist students in exploring deeper postures while protecting their spine.

This sequence shows the process of assisting a student with a drop-back into Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel Pose). This level of support helps build confidence and body awareness for complex movements, which is a key skill for future teachers to learn.

About Hands-On Adjustments & Alignment

It is common to feel like you are just mimicking poses in a large class, but that is where injuries often start. When I guide you into a drop-back or refine your Adho Mukha Svanasana, I am looking for the subtle rotation in your shoulder or the tilt in your pelvis that changes everything. This hands-on adjustment ensures you are building strength in the right muscles, not just pushing your joints to their limit.

In my 200-hour teacher training and daily classes at our Noida ashram, I prioritize physical corrections because a pose held incorrectly is wasted effort. Whether we are working on the foundational alignment of a Downward-Facing Dog or the advanced mechanics of a full locust pose (Purna Shalabhasana), my goal is to give you the tactile feedback you cannot get from a screen.

I often see students straining their lower backs in backbends like Urdhva Dhanurasana. I use manual adjustments to show them how to distribute the weight safely through the spine, rather than dumping pressure into the lumbar region. This is not about forcing you into a shape. It is about helping your body find its own expression of the asana safely.

If you are training to become a teacher with me, you will learn these adjustment techniques yourself—how to approach a student, where to place your hands, and how to use your own body to support theirs. This is the traditional way of learning: teacher to student, directly and clearly. By removing the guesswork, you progress faster and stay injury-free. My approach combines Hatha and Vinyasa fundamentals with the discipline of Shatkarma and breathwork, ensuring that when you leave my ashram, you understand not just how to pose, but how your body works.
