Acro Yoga: Build Trust and Have Fun Together
Acro yoga is basically a trust exercise disguised as play. Whether you are a parent, a kid, or just looking to try something new, come learn how to fly with us.
This three person acro yoga pose requires balance and trust from everyone. The base provides support, while the flyer creates the shape, showing how we can achieve more together.
Here I am basing for a student in a supported dancer pose. This partner variation helps the flyer find balance and deepen their backbend with a feeling of safety and stability.
A pyramid of downward facing dogs. This is a fun acro yoga challenge for groups that builds upper body strength and creates a strong foundation together.
This partner sequence shows a beautiful flow, moving together with the breath. It's like a dance that builds connection and coordination between two people.
A creative combination of a pigeon pose for the base and a handstand with a backbend for the flyer. Acro yoga lets us explore fun new shapes and challenge our bodies in different ways.
Even kids can do acro yoga. This simple partner pose is great for building confidence, balance, and teamwork in a playful way.
Using a partner's feet as a base to practice a supported handstand against the wall. This is a great preparatory exercise for building the strength and alignment needed for inversions.
Here I am acting as the base for a young student. My role is to provide a solid and safe foundation so she can fly and feel weightless.
A full family acro yoga pose. We have a seated base, two supporting pillars, and a flyer on top. It's a wonderful way to connect and create something memorable as a group.
This three person acro pose is great for beginners. The two bases create a stable platform for the flyer to practice a seated pose, building trust and balance.
About Acro Yoga: Fun with Partners & Groups
In my acro yoga sessions, we focus less on achieving the perfect photo and more on communication and safety. You don’t need to be a gymnast to start; we use walls, props, and hands-on support to build your confidence, so you can practice even if you’re a complete beginner.
Think of this as a dance between control and surrender. We combine basic yoga stretches with elements of acrobatics, but trust me, it is not about doing fancy flips. It is about learning to balance with a partner. I usually start beginners with simple lifts and counterbalances, often using a wall or a sturdy chair for support so nobody feels scared.
Whether you are a couple looking to connect, friends wanting a workout, or parents and kids playing together, it works. In my Najafgarh studio sessions or during our online video calls, I personally spot you. I am there to make sure your spine is supported and your alignment is right. We laugh when we wobble, and we celebrate when we hold that pose for just a second longer.
It is a great way to build deep core strength without feeling like you are doing traditional gym reps. If you are nervous, we go slow. We build the base strength first, then try the lifts. By the end, you will be surprised at what your body can actually do when someone has your back—literally. We break down every movement into small steps so you feel secure and supported the entire time.
