Every champion starts with the basics. Whether you want to master your stance, sharpen your jab, or learn defensive head movement, we break down the fundamentals of kickboxing and MMA for real-world application. No shortcuts, just pure discipline.

Everything starts with the right stance. I explain the basic kickboxing stance, how to position your feet, hands, and body to be balanced for both attack and defense.

The jab and cross are the most important punches in boxing. I teach you how to throw a straight punch with proper hip rotation to generate power and speed.

There are three types of hooks, and I break them all down. Learn how to throw a proper hook punch by turning your hip and keeping the correct 'L' shape in your arm for maximum impact.

A student practices her hook punch on the pads. This drill helps in developing the correct form and power for one of the most effective close-range punches in kickboxing.

The uppercut can be a fight ender. I demonstrate the correct technique, using your legs and core to generate power from the ground up to strike the chin or body.

The knee strike is a powerful weapon in kickboxing. I show you the basic technique for a knee attack, including how to hold your opponent and drive your knee forward for maximum damage.

The front push kick, or thrust kick, is essential for controlling distance. I teach you how to execute this kick to stop an advancing opponent or create space.

The roundhouse kick is a staple of kickboxing. I explain how to pivot your standing foot and turn your hips to deliver a powerful kick to the legs, body, or head.

Defense is just as important as offense. I demonstrate the basic head movements and blocks in kickboxing to defend against punches and set up your counters.

About Kickboxing & MMA Fundamentals

When you walk into the dojo, forget fancy gym machines. We train with heavy bags and focus mitts because building real strength requires resistance. If you are starting out, focus on your hip rotation—that is where 80 percent of your power comes from, not your arm strength. Whether you are prepping for a fight or just want to get fit, your stance is your base. If your base is weak, your punch is weak. Keep your guard up, stay light on your feet, and let us work.
