This is Priyamvada, or as we call her, Advocate akka. Her journey with Hatha Yoga is one I have to share. She went from fainting during Angamardana and feeling frustrated with the practices to becoming one of the most committed students I know. This is a real, honest story about the struggles and breakthroughs that happen with consistent sadhana. It’s a long video, but her experience of finding balance and strength is worth the watch.

This picture was taken near the Velliangiri mountains. It reminds me of my own journey. I didn't get into yoga out of passion; I was in IT and just tried it. I know nothing of how it works, but I know it works. My goal isn't to be a perfect yogi, but to keep up the practice and help others do the same. It's less about a career change and more about turning inward.

A question I get all the time is, "Do I need to be flexible to start yoga?". The simple answer is no. Flexibility is a result of the practice, not a requirement to begin. I started out stiff and awkward too. With consistent practice of these classical Hatha Yoga postures, you will naturally build both strength and flexibility over time.

It is wonderful to have dedicated practitioners like Susovan anna in our sadhana sessions. Even after practicing Hatha Yoga for years, he finds that guided sessions and corrections help him go deeper. Hearing him say that at 50, he feels much younger is a testament to the power of these ancient yogic sciences.

This is what my practice looks like most days. No fancy studio, no perfect lighting, just finding a space and sitting. Sometimes the only thing you can manage is to simply sit, and that is enough. I know I can't always work with my mind, but I can work with my body. This is the foundation of Hatha Yoga.

I am very excited to announce a full month yoga program designed specifically for women, many of whom have never been introduced to Isha Yoga before. Creating a supportive space for women to begin their journey is important to me. I am looking forward to seeing how these classical practices unfold for them.
