Traditional Ashtanga Yoga and Mountain Retreats
Whether you need to escape the city noise in the mountains or build a consistent flow in local parks, my approach to yoga is simple: discipline, technique, and plenty of sukoon.
This is what it's all about: finding that 'sukoon' by doing yoga in the mountains. This video shows a glimpse of our yoga and trekking retreat, where we leave the city noise behind to connect with nature and ourselves.
For everyone stuck in the city grind who needs a mental reset, this is for you. We hold outdoor yoga sessions in local parks like Cubbon Park, offering a real break to calm your mind with meditation and energizing asanas like the Warrior series.
If you think advanced poses like a handstand split are out of reach, think again. With the right guidance and a view like this, you can build the strength and balance needed. Aa jao boss, I will teach you.
Yoga is about controlling both the body and the mind. This video shows the two sides of my practice: guiding a peaceful Savasana on a misty hilltop and demonstrating the focus required for an advanced arm balance like Bakasana (Crow Pose).
Here is a quick tutorial on how to approach Bakasana, or Crow Pose. This asana is great for building strength in your wrists, arms, and upper back while also engaging your core. I break down the steps to make it accessible.
The energy of practicing together is incredible. This was from our International Yoga Day celebration, where a big group came together to move, breathe, and share the joy of yoga outdoors.
About Featured
I don't offer shortcuts or magic fixes. My classes, whether they are on a mountain trail in Nandi Hills or a quiet corner of Cubbon Park, are designed to make you work. You will learn the traditional Ashtanga flow, focusing on your alignment, breath, and the mental discipline needed to actually quiet your mind. If you are ready to put in the effort on the mat, I will provide the technique to help you get there.
Finding Sukoon in the City and Beyond
Yoga is not just about the mat; it is about how you carry yourself when life gets chaotic. My practice is divided into three core areas:
1. Mountain Retreats For those who need a complete reset, we head to Nandi Hills. These aren't just holidays. We trek, we practice Ashtanga flow under the open sky, and we sit in meditation. It is about physical endurance combined with deep, quiet mindfulness.
2. Outdoor Park Sessions You don't always need to leave the city to find peace. I conduct regular group sessions in spaces like Cubbon Park. These classes are perfect for anyone wanting to maintain a consistent practice while surrounded by nature. We focus on strength building, sun salutations, and mobility drills that you can carry into your daily life.
3. Targeted Ashtanga & Medical Yoga If you have specific goals, such as weight loss, mobility issues, or medical conditions like back pain and PCOD, we work with a structured approach. I teach the 'why' behind every asana. We cover advanced work like handstands and crow pose for those looking to level up their strength, while keeping the foundational techniques accessible for beginners.
The 'AshTangi' Promise
I believe in Svadhyaya—self-study. I provide the roadmap, the corrections, and the philosophy, but the transformation is your responsibility. My role is to guide your body and mind back to balance, whether that is through a high-intensity Dand workout or a gentle Savasana on a misty hilltop. Reach out if you are ready to stop fighting with yourself and start practicing with intention.
