About Open Water Swimming Training
My Approach: Mind Over Water
Open water swimming isn’t just about muscles or speed, it’s about training your brain to stay calm when the ocean gets wild. I push people to trust themselves, because most of the time, your mind wants to quit before your body does. I’m all about discipline, consistency, and putting in the hard work - even when it hurts a little and the waves have a mind of their own.
Who Can Join
Honestly, anyone who’s committed. Doesn’t matter if you’re a pool swimmer just testing the sea, a triathlete chasing that Ironman medal, or someone who freezes up at the sight of the ocean. Kids, adults, beginners, pros - if you bring energy and guts, I’ll give you the plan.
How We Train
We start with your mind. You'll face waves and unpredictable water, so first we build open water confidence, teaching you to handle doubt and fear. Then, it’s pool-to-sea transition drills, like front breathing for sighting technique open water, and bilateral breathing for balance. In the ocean, you learn to relax, catch the water right, spot buoys, and move with the current.
Safety and Teamwork
I don’t mess around with safety - every sea session is backed by trained eyes, paddleboards, and boats. You’ll always swim with our Ocean Rangers group, because in a team, you push harder and look out for each other. We do group endurance challenges, sometimes you’ll end up with a mouthful of salty water (beech mein thoda samundar ka paani peena padega), but maza aayega (it’s actually fun).
The Reality
It’s tough, needs patience, and you have to show up every day. Not easy, but if you want glory, do what’s right and never give up.

My Story
Hey, I’m Ujwal. Been coaching for 18 years now, and I still get a kick out of seeing someone conquer the deep end for the first time. I’m big on effort and heart—more than just talent. RLSS India and AUSTSWIM certified, but what matters most to me? Seeing my Ocean Rangers team push limits, win medals, or just swim in the sea with a big grin. That’s what it’s all about.
My Work
Swim coaching for all ages - From infants to adults, I teach everything—learn-to-swim, competitive strokes, and yes, sea swimming lessons too.
My way of coaching - It’s not about fighting water. It’s about feeling it, trusting it, and moving easy. Happy swimmers learn best.
Build water confidence - Most folks start with fear of water. We go slow. Breathe, let go, and step by step, you get there.
Mobility and technique - Beyond basics, we do swimming mobility training, flexibility, and video analysis for fine-tuning strokes.
Open water and sea swimming - Want to swim in the sea? I’ll teach you how to tackle waves, stay safe, and go that extra distance—Aage tak jao thoda.
