Sunday Yoga Sessions in Cubbon Park
A space to move, breathe, and simply be. Join us under the canopy for a Sunday morning flow that connects body, mind, and the park’s quiet energy.
This is what we do. Every Sunday morning, we gather under the canopy of Cubbon Park to move, breathe, and just be. This moment, holding a pose together, surrounded by nature, captures the essence of our outdoor Hatha Vinyasa practice.
The practice doesn't end with the final asana. Some of my favorite moments are the conversations and connections we make after class, often over shared food. It's a time to unite not just body and mind, but our tastebuds too.
I am here to guide you. Whether you are new to yoga or deepening your practice, I offer hands on assistance to help you find alignment and stability in your poses. This is a shared journey, and we support each other through it.
Our sessions are a space of 'Sukun', or deep peace. The park's gentle energy is infectious, and it's not uncommon for our four legged friends to join us for a moment of quiet rest. This is the kind of calm we cultivate together.
This is what it feels like to let go. Lying in Savasana, feeling the grass beneath you and watching the leaves dance against the sky. This is your moment to absorb the practice, letting your breath and the sounds of the park wash over you.
My own practice is a constant exploration. Finding flexibility and strength, like in this Hanumanasana or split, is a journey. I bring the lessons from my personal practice into every class I teach in the park.
Come and meet the community. We are a diverse group of people who come together each week to share our energy and practice. The smiles after a session say everything about the joy we find in this shared space.
About this collection
We practice on natural, uneven ground, so leave your studio expectations behind. Bring your own mat, your curiosity, and be ready for anything—from spontaneous Sitar music to friendly dogs joining our Shavasana. This is real-world yoga where we work with what the morning gives us.
How We Flow
My sessions are a mix of Hatha and Vinyasa, guided by the group's energy. We don't chase perfection. We start with movement to wake up the body, build heat with Surya Namaskaras, and always wind down with breathwork and guided Shavasana or Yoga Nidra.
The Cubbon Park Experience
Practicing outdoors in Cubbon Park is a different game. You have the city humming in the distance, the smell of damp earth, and the canopy of trees above. It is unpredictable and messy, but that is the beauty of it.
More Than Just Yoga
My favorite part of the day happens after the mat is rolled up. We often stick around for tea or refreshments—sometimes it is homemade ragi cake, other times fresh hummus and chilled Majjige. It is that simple, honest connection that makes this community special. Marete hogidde (I had almost forgotten) how much that human interaction matters.
