About Yoga in Nature

Practicing under the open sky changes your entire perspective. When you are on a mat in a park, you feel the uneven ground beneath your feet and the breeze on your skin, which forces you to be more present. I incorporate these elements into my outdoor Bangalore classes to help you break away from the artificial, climate controlled environments where we usually spend our days.

When you step out of the studio and onto the grass, your practice shifts from a workout to a sensory experience. Nature provides a natural rhythm that studio walls cannot replicate.

My outdoor sessions focus on grounding, which is essential for stabilizing your nervous system. We begin with Sukshma Vyayam to warm up the joints before moving into asanas like Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) or Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose). These balancing postures are often more challenging on uneven natural terrain, which forces your core to engage more deeply and improves your focus.

  • Connection to Elements: Breathing fresh air during Pranayama helps clear the lungs and calm the mind more effectively than recirculated air.
  • Enhanced Awareness: Moving with the sounds of wind or birds requires you to listen to your body rather than just following visual cues.

I provide guidance on how to safely navigate outdoor surfaces and offer modifications for every posture, ensuring that your practice remains accessible regardless of your experience level.
