When we use a yoga wheel to support a backbend or blocks to extend our reach in standing postures, we allow the body to open up naturally without force. At our Andheri West shala, we incorporate Iyengar-style props including metal chairs, sturdy blocks, and nylon straps into our regular Hatha and Ashtanga flows. For those working on complex asanas like Chakrasana (Wheel Pose) or Sirsasana (Headstand), these tools provide the stability needed to build proper muscle memory.
Whether you are recovering from a minor injury or looking to refine your posture, props act as an extension of your own limbs. We also use bolsters and blankets to create a restorative environment, ensuring that our deep stretching sessions offer the comfort you need to truly practice Vairagya Bhava—the art of letting go.
