Custom Pet Portraits Hand-Painted on Canvas
I turn photos of your furry family members into hand-painted acrylic portraits, capturing the personality that makes them your world.
I had so much fun working on this piece of an adorable fluffball. Capturing the personality of a beloved pet is always a joy.
Capturing the love for your furry buddies in a painting. This portrait shows a man lovingly holding his dog, a moment of pure connection immortalized on an 8x10 inch canvas.
A beautiful portrait of a man and his fluffy Shih Tzu against a solid blue background. This is a great example of how a simple background can make the subjects truly stand out.
A vibrant and emotional pet portrait of a woman kissing her golden retriever in the water. The bright red background makes the blue water and the subjects pop.
This video shows the different stages of painting the pet portrait of the woman and her dog in the water. The final gift-wrapped package shows how much care goes into every order.
About Custom Pet Portraits
I work primarily with acrylics on stretched canvas, but what really matters is the reference photo you send over. Because I work in layers to capture that specific spark in a pet's eye or the unique texture of their fur, please pick a photo where the lighting is clear, even if the background is a bit messy. I can always swap that out for a solid color that makes them pop.
There is something about a pet that just feels like a family member, right? Whether it is that goofy grin your dog gives you when you walk through the door or the quiet comfort of your cat, I love immortalizing those moments. My pet portraits are not just about getting the likeness right, I am looking for the personality that makes them yours.
My Process and Surfaces
I usually paint with high-quality acrylics on stretched cotton canvas. You will see from the gallery that I love playing with vibrant backgrounds, like that deep red one I did for a golden retriever portrait, to make your pet the absolute center of attention. If you are looking for something smaller, I also do these on rustic wooden slices, which honestly look adorable on a shelf.
Customization
You do not need a professional photo studio setup. If you have a favorite photo of you with your pet, I can absolutely paint that too. I have done pieces featuring owners hugging their dogs in water, and it is one of my favorite types of commissions because the love is just so obvious in the final piece.
Booking and Timing
Since I pour a lot of myself into every layer, it is a process of sketching, layering, and varnishing, I keep my order slots very limited to ensure every painting gets the time it deserves. Because of this, my waitlist fills up fast, especially around holidays. If you are planning a gift, definitely check my current availability early. I will always provide a digital mockup before I start painting so you know exactly what the final piece will feel like.
Rattan
I am Rattan, and I am that artist in Bangalore who probably cries a little when I finish a pet portrait because I get so attached. I believe your pets are your treasures, and I am here to make sure their portrait reflects all the love you have for them.
