I believe art is for everyone. From mastering color theory to fun Sip & Paint events, I'm here to help you ditch perfectionism and find your creative rhythm.

Here are some key concepts for painting portraits in acrylics. Understanding color theory, blending techniques, and how to see light and shadow are crucial for achieving realism in your work.

Here are three tips and tricks I've learned from over a year of painting portrait commissions. I talk about the importance of observational skills, using a fixed color palette, and applying double coats of paint.

I'm excited to facilitate this zine-making workshop for self-discovery. It's an art therapy session designed to help you explore emotions and build awareness through creativity. No artistic experience needed.

A little introduction to me, Rattan. This video shares a bit about who I am, my journey as an artist, and my vision to bring art into the everyday lives of people through commissions and workshops.

A glimpse of my first pop-up stall experience. I had some of my paintings for sale and also hosted an observational drawing workshop. It was amazing to connect with so many new people.

A collection of some of my older works, from painted mirrors to landscape canvases. Looking back at past creations is a great way to find inspiration and motivation during a creative block.

A mini painting of a vibrant red and orange poppy. Sometimes the most difficult part of being an artist is just getting started, but small studies like this can help.

A slow, soothing video of me painting a carnation from a live reference using watercolors. Painting flowers is a joyful and calming process for me.

Two abstract floral paintings, "Blushing Blooms" and "Cerulean Symphony," on 6-inch round canvas boards. These are available for purchase or custom order.

Some floral goodness for you. This is a loose watercolor floral piece painted on my own brand of watercolor paper.

About Learn With Me: Art Tips & Workshops

My sessions are about letting go of the pressure to be perfect. Whether we are covering why double-coating your acrylics matters, how to mix colors so they do not end up muddy, or just finding the right light, my focus is always on practical, actionable steps. I keep things light—usually with a bit of music or a fun theme—because the goal is to enjoy the process of creating, not just to produce a masterpiece.

How I Teach

I am a self-taught artist, which means I know exactly how frustrating it feels to stare at a blank canvas with no idea where to start. That is why my workshops are designed to be beginner-friendly. I do not believe in strict rules; I believe in showing you the tools and letting you play with them.

What You Can Expect

  • Sip & Paint Bangalore: These are my favorite sessions. We get together, grab drinks, paint, and just vibe. No experience is needed, and you will always leave with something you made yourself.
  • Technical Art Tips: If you are looking to get better at portraits, I share everything I have learned about color theory, blending, and understanding light and shadow. My goal is to demystify acrylics and watercolors so you can focus on the fun part.
  • Creative Therapy: Sometimes we do things like zine-making, which is all about self-discovery and processing emotions rather than just painting a pretty picture. It is a safe space to be messy and real.

Why Learn With Me?

Because I have been exactly where you are—feeling like an imposter and wondering if you have the 'talent' for it. I promise you do. My classes are about community as much as they are about technique. Whether we are painting floral studies, experimenting with portrait contours, or just hanging out, the vibe is always supportive and judgment-free.

I share my process openly—including the mistakes—so you can skip the struggle and get straight to the part that makes your heart happy. If you are looking for a sign to pick up a brush, this is it.

I’m Rattan, and honestly, art is how I stay sane—it is messy, emotional, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have taught myself the hard way, so I love breaking it down into simple, fun steps for you to try at home or with me in a workshop.
