Interactive Storytelling and Puppet Shows for Schools
I bring interactive puppetry into classrooms to turn lessons into adventures. From preschool singalongs to high school literature, we make learning stick.
A glimpse into a puppetry session at a school, followed by beautiful reflection drawings from the students. It shows how stories and art can spark imagination and leave a lasting impact long after the show is over.
Performing at Delhi Public School, Varanasi, as part of their Inspire Series. It was a wonderful day of sharing stories with students and discussing the importance of arts in education with the teachers.
The students at DPS Varanasi couldn't wait to get their hands on my puppet friend. This kind of interaction is what makes live storytelling so powerful and engaging for young learners.
A morning of puppets and stories at Sanghamitra School. We explored tales of friendship, family, and caring for our environment, reminding the little ones that their choices can shape the world.
Two magical days with the little ones at Doon Toddlers School in Amritsar. Each session was specially curated for ages 2-4, filled with songs, fingerplays, and stories that had them giggling and clapping along.
The energy at Shiv Nadar School, Chennai, was incredible. The students were completely enthralled by tales of the witty Nasruddin and the hilarious Wide-Mouthed Frog.
A hall full of captivated students at Mahadevi Birla World Academy. My goal is to hold their attention with every twist and turn of the tale.
Using a simple prop to begin a story. It's amazing how a piece of cloth can become anything in a child's imagination, setting the stage for the magic to unfold.
Storytelling for an all-girls audience at Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar. I love adapting my performance style to connect with every unique group of students.
Inviting a student to be part of the show. Audience participation is key to my performances, making children active creators in the storytelling process.
About Bringing Stories to Life in the Classroom
I don't just show up and talk. My sessions are designed to fit your school's existing curriculum, whether you need a session on STEM concepts, social values, or specific literature. I arrive 30 minutes early to set up my portable black curtain puppet booth, ensuring the focus stays on the story without any technical distractions during the performance.
Integrating Arts into Education
Storytelling in the classroom should be more than a passive activity. I structure every session to encourage active participation—this means students aren't just listeners, they are part of the narrative. Whether it is a Jataka tale, a Panchatantra story, or a modern script about sustainability, the goal is to make concepts like teamwork, courage, and empathy tangible.
What My Classroom Sessions Include
Each 60-minute performance is tailored to the specific age group, from preschool to high school. You can expect:
- Interactive Puppet Play: Characters like Paprika the chicken bring humor and relatability to complex themes.
- Curriculum Alignment: I work with educators to weave relevant lessons into the storytelling, making it a powerful tool for reinforcing academic concepts.
- Audience Participation: From fingerplays and songs for younger students to thoughtful discussion prompts for older ones.
- Reflection: I often incorporate a post-show activity, such as a short drawing or discussion, to help students process the themes we explored.
Logistics and Setup
I travel across India with my entire setup. All I require is a designated space—a classroom, library, or auditorium—and an audience ready to listen. I provide the full portable puppet booth and my own portable PA system, ensuring voice projection is clear even in larger school halls. My sessions are designed to be low-maintenance for your staff while delivering a high-impact experience for your students.
Talking Turtles Storytellers
