Interactive Puppet Shows for Kids & Families
We bring ancient wisdom to life through traditional string puppetry. Our shows for children and families turn legendary tales into joyful, interactive learning experiences.
Smt. Anupama Hoskere engages a young audience with a storytelling session. We believe that stories are the best way to pass on wisdom, and we love watching children get lost in the tales of Hanuman and other heroes.
Bring a piece of our show home with the Narasimha Puzzle, based on our production 'Bhakta Prahlada'. This puzzle is a fun and engaging way for children to connect with the stories we tell.
A poster for our 'Mooshikaa Katha' puppet show, a delightful story of a mouse-maiden from the Panchatantra. This show is a favorite among our youngest audience members.
Announcing our Children's Day celebrations. We regularly host special events and workshops for children to introduce them to the wonderful world of puppetry.
About For the Young & Young at Heart
When we perform for children, we don't just hold the mic and puppeteer from afar. We focus on the interactive dialogue—the 'Katha'—where the puppets directly address the audience, turning the performance into a conversation that keeps children, even those as young as two, completely engaged with the story's moral and rhythm.
More Than Just Entertainment
At Dhaatu, we believe puppetry is a bridge between generations. When we bring stories from the Panchatantra or the epics to life, we are not just hosting a show; we are sharing cultural values in a way that children find fun rather than didactic.
Why Choose Our Shows?
- Authentic Artistry: We use traditional Sutrada Gombe (string puppets) crafted with silk, cotton, and traditional jewelry. Every puppet is designed to be expressive and durable for interactive sessions.
- Age-Appropriate Content: From the simple moral lessons in Mooshikaa Katha for toddlers to more complex mythological sagas for older students, we tailor our performance and interaction level to the audience.
- Total Immersion: Our portable proscenium stage includes painted backdrops and professional background scores, allowing us to set up a full theater experience in school halls, housing society clubhouses, or private gardens.
Practical Details for Organizers
We handle all technical requirements, including the PA system for the soundtrack and the staging. A standard show runs for 60 minutes, which includes the performance and a short post-show interaction where children can ask questions or get a closer look at the puppets. We recommend planning for a 90-minute setup window prior to your start time to ensure all lighting and backdrop layers are perfect.
Whether you are hosting a school festival, a birthday party, or a cultural event in Bengaluru, our goal is to leave your audience with a sense of wonder and a story to share.
