Interactive Storytelling Workshops and Outreach Programs
Bringing the magic of stories to schools, NGOs, and festivals beyond our library doors.
A room full of enthusiastic children during an outreach program in Delhi. The energy in the room was electric, and their intelligent participation made this a truly joyful and soul-satisfying session.
This was a special session at Salaam Balak Trust as part of the JLF outreach program. We used a story to talk about branding and marketing, and it was inspiring to hear about the talents and dreams of these young minds.
The vibrant atmosphere of the Jaipur Literature Festival, where I was a speaker for their outreach program. It was an enriching experience to be part of such a huge celebration of literature and connect with so many people.
It was a bright day when young readers from Pallavanjali, an inclusive school, visited the library. It's always wonderful to see children exploring our collection and finding a quiet corner to read.
About Stories Beyond Our Walls
I don't just tell stories, I create a conversation. Whether I am at a literature festival or a local NGO, my sessions are designed to be hands-on with role-play, craft, and honest discussion. If you are looking for an engagement that gets children excited about books, let's talk about bringing this energy to your space.
My philosophy is simple: books are gateways, but interaction is the key. When I step out of The Treasure Trove Library, my goal is to meet children where they are.
My outreach work ranges from high-energy festival setups at the Jaipur Literature Festival to intimate sessions at schools like Pallavanjali or NGOs like Salaam Balak Trust. I adapt to the environment. In a classroom, we might do critical thinking exercises around a text. At a festival, we might focus on role-play, drumming, and dance-based storytelling to keep the crowd engaged.
What to expect:
- Interactive Narrations: No reading from a script. I use voice modulation and performance to bring characters to life.
- Skill-Building: Beyond fun, we touch on vocabulary, perspective-taking, and confidence.
- Flexibility: I can work with small school groups or larger festival crowds.
Most importantly, I believe in 'creating and nurturing readers'. Aaj kal ke bacchon ko (For today's children), passive consumption is too common. My sessions force them to think, debate, and create. Whether it is a one-off workshop or a series, let's connect and see how we can bring stories to life for your group.
