Pottery is our craft, but the connections we build here are what define us. From festive barbecues to quiet musical evenings, this is our studio family.

A look back at our festive Christmas celebration. The video captures our community decorating the tree, enjoying a barbecue, dancing, and sharing laughs together.

About Our Studio Family

Our studio events are not formal functions. When we host a barbecue or a musical evening, it is about shifting the focus from the wheel to the person. You will often find our students and local ceramic artists swapping stories over tea or collaborating on new pieces, turning a simple workspace into a place where you actually feel like you belong.

We built Studio White & Gray as a sanctuary, not just a workshop. Located within a historic mill compound in Byculla, our space is designed to be a third place for Mumbai's pottery enthusiasts.

Why We Gather

Pottery can be an isolating art form if done behind closed doors. We break that cycle through our studio events. Whether it is a Christmas barbecue, a birthday celebration, or our annual anniversary party, we bring people together to share the joy of making. These moments allow beginners and pros to mingle outside the high-pressure environment of the kiln room.

Culture and Tradition

Our connection to Indian culture runs deep. During Ganesh Chaturthi, the studio transforms. We run immersive workshops to hand-sculpt eco-friendly Ganesha idols using natural river-bed clay, finishing with an on-site visarjan. This isn't just a service; it is a way to celebrate responsibly.

We also host 'Studio Baithaks' where the studio becomes a stage. We invite musicians to play acoustic sets, folk, or Ghatam—where the clay pot itself becomes the percussion instrument. It is about understanding that clay is as much about sound and movement as it is about shape.

Join the Community

If you are looking for a pottery community in Mumbai that values patience and shared growth, our doors are open. We invite you to be part of our next gathering, whether you are here to learn a specific skill like Raku firing or simply to enjoy the atmosphere of a shared creative space.

Studio White & Gray

Studio at Byculla East, MumbaiStarts from 500 per person

I started Studio White & Gray to fill a gap I saw years ago: the lack of space to just create and connect. We are not just here to teach you how to throw clay; we are here to build a community where you can unlearn your stress and find your own pace.
