We teach yoga as a science of inner alignment, not a fitness routine. Discover practices from the Isha tradition designed to create a natural distance between you and your mind.

The goal of yoga is to create a space between you and your mind, and between you and your body. Once this distance is there, suffering has no place to exist. This is the path to liberation that I teach.

Many people come to yoga wanting to lose weight, but ancient yogis did not invest their lives for such a small outcome. Yoga is a science of consciously holding postures to alter the way you think, feel, and perceive life itself.

People often equate yoga with a gym workout. A gym focuses on building the physical body by creating stress. Classical yoga works from the inside out, aligning your inner energies, which brings physical health as a natural consequence.

In my classes, we do not use props like ropes or blocks. Hatha Yoga is about aligning your energy with the celestial geometry, and this alignment happens within your body's own capacity. Using props can force the body beyond its readiness and lead to injury.

I do not play music during Hatha Yoga practice. To connect with the source of creation within you, your body, mind, and energy must be one hundred percent involved. Music can become a distraction that takes away from your inner focus.

True comfort is not slouching on a sofa. For a Hatha Yogi, the most comfortable posture is sitting with an erect spine in Ardhasiddhasana. This is our body's natural state, and with practice, it becomes effortless.

Everything that moves will eventually stop. Only that which is still is forever. Meditation and the path of yoga are about moving towards this inner stillness, to become like the very core of existence.

The spiritual path is not always about finding yourself. Sometimes, it is about having the courage to be lost, knowing that a guiding force is there. With the grace of a Guru, one can be joyfully lost in the process of self-exploration.
