My Path to Teaching Classical Hatha Yoga
A look at my journey from being a student of Hatha Yoga to offering these powerful tools of transformation in their purest form.
My journey from being a participant to a teacher has been a blessing. After experiencing a deep inner shift myself through Angamardana, I was drawn to the 1750-hour intensive training at the Isha Yoga Center to share these powerful tools in their purest form.
About About Me: My Path to Teaching
What began as a simple search for physical strength in 2021 turned into a complete shift in my perception of life. After dedicating myself to over 1,750 hours of intensive training at the Isha Yoga Center, I chose to dedicate my time to teaching these practices exactly as I received them—without props, music, or shortcuts.
The decision to become a teacher was not about a career change. It was a recognition that these tools are not just for the mat; they are a profound science of inner transformation.
The Classical Approach
My teaching is rooted in the Isha Hatha Yoga tradition. This means we do not use music to set a mood or props to support the body. The practice is meant to build your own inner foundation. Whether you are learning Angamardana or Surya Kriya, the focus is on the geometry of the body and the breath. My role is to provide the correction and guidance so you can eventually perform the practice independently at home.
Why 1,750 Hours Matter
People often ask why the training is so intensive. To pass on these tools, one must understand the physiology, the energy mechanics, and the psychology behind every movement. It is a responsibility to ensure that what I offer remains undiluted and effective. When I guide a workshop in Suncity or travel for a program, I carry that same standard of precision.
My Commitment to You
My intention is not to just teach a class. It is to offer a space where you can experience the same inner shift that I did. If you are looking for a quick workout, there are many places to find that. If you are looking for a genuine, inward-focused practice that can change how you experience your own life, I am here to help you get started.
Sthiram - Isha Hatha Yoga
I’m Ishan. I came to Hatha Yoga looking for strength, but I stayed for the peace. Now, my work is simply to pass on these powerful, life-altering tools just as they were passed to me.
