Beyond the Mat: Philosophy, Breath & Chanting Training
We believe yoga is more than just asana. Our sessions explore the philosophical and energetic roots of the practice, helping you find your own voice.
A dedication to our teachers, the Gurus who lead us from darkness to light. This page from our training manual reflects our deep respect for the lineage and the importance of guidance on the yogic path.
A student leads a discussion on yogic concepts. We believe in fostering authentic voices, as each person's unique perspective makes the learning process richer and more alive.
A wide view of our philosophy session. We create a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ancient wisdom together.
Another student takes the lead at the whiteboard. This practice of teaching helps to connect the dots between different concepts and deepens personal understanding.
An interactive discussion in our small group setting. This is where the texts come alive, as we share insights and relate ancient philosophies to our modern lives.
A student presents her understanding of a yogic principle. This is a key part of our teaching methodology, empowering students to build confidence and find their own teaching style.
"We believe." This simple phrase hints at the deeper philosophy that guides our practice. Our core principles act as a compass, leading us collectively toward a greater purpose.
About this collection
We do not just lecture on ancient texts. We gather in small groups to discuss how these traditional philosophies apply to the actual challenges of your daily life and your teaching practice. You will learn to move beyond the physical mechanics, turning abstract concepts like Pranayama into a tangible, daily routine that you can eventually share with your own students.
Deepening the Practice
Yoga is a vast ocean, and the physical poses are just the shore. In our philosophy and breathwork modules, we invite you to wade into deeper waters. We focus on the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and other foundational texts, not as academic subjects, but as practical guides for living and teaching.
Why Pranayama Matters
Many practitioners treat breathwork as an afterthought. We treat it as the bridge between the body and the mind. You will learn traditional techniques to connect with Prana (energy) and understand how to control the breath to stabilize the nervous system. This is essential for anyone who wants to teach, as it allows you to offer more than just a workout to your students.
Chanting and Mantra Sadhana
Sound has a way of cutting through the noise of the mind. Our sessions include Mantra Sadhana, where we explore the vibration and focus that chanting brings. It is a way to cultivate Sakshi Bhava (the state of the detached witness), allowing you to observe your mind without judgment.
Learning in Whitefield
All our philosophy and breathwork training happens at our studio in Whitefield, Bengaluru. We keep our groups intentionally small to ensure that every question is heard and every student gets the space to articulate their understanding. Whether you are a dedicated student looking to refine your personal Sadhana or a teacher seeking to build your confidence, these sessions provide the foundation you need to teach with clarity and integrity.
