About Learn to Meditate

Our five-week Meditation 1 course is designed for those who want a disciplined approach to stillness rather than a casual drop-in session. Each 90-minute class focuses on the 'mechanics of the mind,' teaching you how to use mantras and concentration exercises known as Dharana to steady the mind, rather than just forcing it to be quiet.

Why a Structured Meditation Course?

Many people try to meditate by sitting in silence and hoping for peace, but without a framework, the mind often creates more distraction. Our course, taught by a Senior Acharya, provides that framework. You will learn how the mind functions, why it oscillates, and how to use specific Raja Yoga techniques to create a more stable, tranquil state.

What You Will Learn

Over the five weeks, we move from theory to practice:

  • The Nature of the Mind: Understanding 'Chitta Vritti'—the fluctuations of the mind—and how they manifest in your daily life.
  • Mantra Japa: Using Sanskrit mantras as a precise tool for concentration.
  • Postural Stability: We provide meditation cushions (Zafus) and back-support chairs, as a steady body is essential for a steady mind.
  • Practice at Home: You will receive a copy of 'Meditation and Mantras' by Swami Vishnudevananda to support your progress outside the classroom.

Who This Is For

This course is suitable for complete beginners who do not know where to start, as well as practitioners looking to reset their habits. Because we work in a closed, consistent cohort for five weeks at our Kailash Colony studio, you get to practice in a quiet environment free from the noise of typical group classes. Whether you are seeking stress relief or a deeper spiritual connection, this course offers a step-by-step method to build a sustainable daily habit.
