Movement & Play: Joyful Fitness Training in Bengaluru
Fitness isn't always about counting reps in a gym. Sometimes, it’s about rediscovering the joy of movement, keeping your inner child alive, and training in a way that actually feels good.
Being a trendsetter, one day at a time. Here I am combining our traditional workout with traditional Indian attire. Strength and culture can go hand in hand beautifully.
This is the video I'll put on my matrimonial profile. Feel my biceps and tell me I'm pretty. A little fun and a celebration of the strength I've worked hard to build.
For all my long-haired friends who know the struggle. This is the real arm workout before the actual arm workout. A little humor from my daily routine.
I'm building a soulful connection with my body through mindful movement and taking time out to play. From skateboarding to enjoying a healthy smoothie, it's all part of my self-love journey.
About this collection
Fitness here is just as much about mind-body connection as it is about breaking a sweat. Whether we are practicing Gada flows in traditional attire, skateboarding, or focusing on mobility drills in the sandpit, the goal is to build resilience through fun. If you have been looking for a reason to actually enjoy your workout instead of dreading it, this is the space for that.
I started 'Movement & Play' because I realized that exercise can become a chore if we only focus on the scale or the mirror. True 'Tagda' (strong) living is about freedom. In these sessions, we use a mix of traditional Indian tools like the Gada (mace) and Mudgar (clubs) alongside unconventional movement flows to improve balance, coordination, and mental focus.
We train at my open-air studio in Sivanchetti Gardens, which offers a grounding, natural environment far removed from the sterile vibe of a typical gym. We might start with a mobility drill, move into strength training with bodyweight exercises like Dand (Indian pushups), and finish with something playful.
This approach is designed to help you:
- Build functional strength that carries over to your daily life.
- Improve joint health and mobility, which is crucial if you spend most of your day at a desk.
- Develop a consistent routine without the pressure of needing to be perfect.
I want you to leave my session feeling lighter in your head and stronger in your body. It does not matter if you are a beginner or if you have never touched a Gada before; we will start with weights as light as 1.8kg and build your skills at your own pace.
Sheri Peri
I'm Sheri. Fitness for me is just as much about mental clarity as it is about physical strength. In my 'Movement & Play' sessions, we drop the rigid gym mentality and focus on how movement makes us feel, whether that's through a traditional Gada flow or simply finding joy in a new activity.
