Traditional Indian Fitness & Mugdar Workshops
I teach functional fitness and traditional Indian arts like Mugdar and Gada to help you regain mobility and strength. Join me in Bangalore or Kerala to learn how these ancient movements can fix your daily stiffness.
My partner Jyothi and I are ready for a workshop, with all our Indian clubs and Mugdars lined up. We started this journey to share our love for this ancient art form with as many people as possible.
Here I am during our first workshop, explaining the history and benefits of Indian club training. It was a dream come true to see so many enthusiastic people ready to learn.
My partner Jyothi leading a session at our workshop in Bangalore. We guide our participants through each movement to make sure they learn the correct form safely.
Receiving a certificate of participation at a Silambam workshop in Palakkad. It was a great opportunity to learn Kuthuvarisai, a traditional fighting technique.
A group photo with my master and fellow participants at the Bodhi Kalari Centre after the Silambam camp. Learning from others is a big part of my journey.
The Bodhi Kalari Centre in Alathur, Palakkad, where I attended a one-day training camp for Silambam. It is important to learn these arts in a traditional setting.
I was invited to give a talk on fitness awareness for the NSS campaign at SN College. It is great to connect with young people and discuss how to build healthy habits for life.
I had a great opportunity to work as a fitness choreographer for a new Cult.fit ad shoot in Bangalore. Here you can see me guiding an actor on the correct form for a kettlebell swing.
About My Workshops & Fitness Community
When I host these workshops, my main focus is safety and form. I spend time teaching the mechanics of each swing—like how to grip a Mugdar without straining your wrist or how to rotate your shoulder correctly. You leave with a clear, simple routine that you can start practicing at home the very next day, regardless of your current fitness level.
Why Ancient Indian Tools?
It is not about showmanship or lifting the heaviest weight. It is about longevity. Many of my clients come to me with what I call 'IT job shoulders'—stiff, painful, and lacking range. My workshops break down the basics of Mugdar, Gada, and Karlakattai to help you reclaim that movement. I mix these traditional tools with modern science to ensure you are actually fixing the root cause of your stiffness, not just masking it.
What to Expect
I keep my groups small so everyone gets hands-on correction. Whether it is a session at a residential apartment in Bangalore or a more traditional setting in Kerala, I make sure you are not just following a flow, but understanding the biomechanics behind it. We start from ground zero—how to stand, how to hold the equipment, and how to breathe.
Who Should Attend
I have taught everyone from young athletes to grandparents. If you can hold a club, you can learn. There is no 'starting point' requirement. If you have been feeling restricted in your daily life or just want to add something new to your training, these workshops are designed to give you a foundation you can keep building on long after the session ends.
