Build Functional Strength with Tagda Raho
Step into my world where we use traditional Indian tools to build resilience, flow, and a calm, focused mind. This is about movement that makes you feel alive.
This is the heart of my practice. 'Tagda Raho' is an emotion. It’s about being fearless, turning weakness into strength, and putting in the work to become stronger, mentally and physically. This is our foundation.
It was an absolute honor to coach the legendary Jonty Rhodes. It shows that this traditional Indian workout is for everyone, from absolute beginners to world-class athletes. His humility and willingness to learn was truly inspiring.
Worried about lifting heavy weights or this being only an upper-body workout? Let me clear that up. We start with weights as light as 1.8kg and focus on skill first. Our movements are designed for full-body strength, including a lot of fun lower body work.
My own journey has been humbling. I started struggling with a 3kg mudgar and have slowly worked my way up to 12kg. This is proof that with patience and consistency, you can discover a strength you never knew you had.
What does being 'Tagda' mean to me? It's a discipline for my body and mind. It's showing up on good days and tough ones, crushing my ego, and moving with my mind, body, and soul in a state of flow.
Here you can see the union of mind and muscle. The mudgar movements become a symphony, a dance that builds a deep connection with your body. It’s a liberating feeling that I want to share with you.
Are you still tracking progress on the weighing scale? Let's shift our focus. Real progress is feeling exercises get easier, recovering faster, and noticing your clothes fit differently. It's time to ditch the scale and look at the bigger picture.
About this collection
Most people walk in worried about swinging heavy steel. The truth is, we start with wooden tools as light as 1.8kg to master form first. You aren't here to impress a machine; you are here to learn how your body moves with rhythm and control, regardless of your starting point.
Movement is a practice of showing up for yourself, even when it is hard. My approach to fitness is rooted in traditional Indian modalities like Mudgar (clubs), Gada (mace), and Samtola (barbell). These tools are not just weights; they are instruments for building functional strength, shoulder mobility, and mental grit.
Why This Approach Works
- Mind-Muscle Connection: The rhythmic nature of swinging a Mudgar forces you to be present. You cannot 'cheat' your way through a flow without losing your balance, which naturally clears the external chatter from your mind.
- Built for Longevity: Unlike repetitive gym machines, these flows target your stabilizer muscles, improve joint health, and enhance grip strength. It is training that actually prepares your body for real-life demands.
- Progress, Not Perfection: We ditch the weighing scale. Progress here looks like better posture, moving without pain, and the ability to sustain a flow that seemed impossible a week ago. Whether you are dealing with an old injury or are a complete beginner, we scale the intensity to meet you where you are.
My studio in Sivanchetti Gardens is an open-air space where we train barefoot. It is a humble, grounding environment where the goal is always to become 'Tagda'—strong in body and resilient in spirit. We move, we sweat, and we learn to be our own biggest cheerleaders.
