Obstacle Course Race Strength Training in Bengaluru

Real race fitness isn't built on a treadmill. It’s built on functional power, grit, and the ability to handle whatever the course throws at you.

Tire flips are a full body workout that builds explosive power from the ground up. This is a core exercise in our OCR prep to develop the strength needed for lifting and flipping heavy objects on the course.

The sledgehammer workout builds incredible grip, forearm, and core strength. It's a high intensity exercise that develops the kind of rotational power and toughness essential for any OCR athlete.

A glimpse into a CrossFit circuit training session. We combine exercises like kettlebell swings and wall balls to build strength and conditioning simultaneously, keeping your heart rate high.

This circuit training session combines weightlifting with tire flips. This method improves muscular endurance, builds strength, and provides a time efficient, full body workout.

Muscular endurance is crucial. Here, I'm demonstrating posture holding exercises like the squat hold and superman hold. These build the stability and strength to maintain difficult positions during a race.

More endurance posture holding techniques. These bodyweight exercises improve your ability to manage your own weight, which is critical for obstacles like wall hangs and crawls.

We also incorporate yoga poses held for longer durations. This not only builds strength and stability but also cultivates mental focus and discipline.

About this collection

You won't find endless rows of machines here. I prioritize functional movements—tyre flips, sledgehammer strikes, and sandbag carries—that mirror the physical demands of an actual obstacle course. If you want to conquer events like the Devil’s Circuit or Wild Warriors, you need strength that works when you’re already muddy, tired, and halfway through a race.

Standard gym training doesn't prepare you for an obstacle course race (OCR). When you're mid-race, nobody cares how much you can bench press if you can't scale a wall or crawl through mud without cramping up. My approach at Athletes Revolution focuses on the 'weird' stuff that actually matters: grip strength for those monkey bars, rotational power for hammer strikes, and core stability for balancing on beams.

We don't train for aesthetics. We train for utility. My group sessions, conducted in a hybrid setup between our Kammanahalli box and outdoor spots like Kanteerava or Coles Park, are designed to test your limits. We incorporate animal flow, TRX, and explosive track work to build an engine that handles intensity. Whether you are a beginner looking to finish your first race or a seasoned athlete gunning for the podium, we scale the volume to match your level.

You’ll learn the technical side of OCR as well—proper foot-locks for rope climbs, efficient wall scaling mechanics, and race-day pacing. It’s about building a body that performs, not just one that looks good. If you are ready to stop making excuses and start putting in the work, you’ll fit right into our squad.
