Our Studio, Philosophy & Collaborative Practice
We believe architecture is a dialogue, not just a drawing. Step into our studio in Kasturi Nagar, where ideas are tested and spatial narratives are born.
An intimate look inside our Bangalore studio, produced in collaboration with India Design ID. We share insights into our collaborative work culture and our philosophical approach to birthing new projects, each with its own inherent potential.
The exterior of our office building, '113', designed by us as a neutral, flexible space for creative work. The concrete facade and large glass openings reflect our studio's ethos of transparency and structured thinking.
A detail of the facade of our studio building. The design serves as a physical manifestation of our practice, a self-initiated project that embodies our architectural principles and provides a home for our multidisciplinary team.
A glimpse of our 'Ellara Nelle' exhibit, a collaboration with BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike). This public engagement initiative allowed us to share our urban design ideas directly with the city's residents and gather their feedback.
Our principal architect, Sujit Nair, participating in a panel discussion at the FOAID conference. Engaging in these conversations allows us to share our perspective and learn from other leaders in the architecture and design industry.
A wide shot of the 'Design Manthan' stage at FOAID India. We believe that participating in public forums is essential for contributing to the broader discourse on architecture and urbanism in India.
We are proud to be featured on the AD100 list for 2025. This recognition from Architectural Digest is a testament to our entire team's dedication and our collective pursuit of meaningful, high-quality design.
About Our Studio, Philosophy & Collaborations
Designing our own studio, '113' in Kasturi Nagar, was our most rigorous test. We deliberately created a neutral, bias-free floor plan to prioritize the collective flow of ideas, choosing transparency and open sightlines over enclosed rooms to ensure that every team member, from architect to intern, participates in the unfolding project narrative.
At SDeG, we see architecture as a process of finding the 'seed' of a project. Our studio, 113, serves as a physical manifestation of this. It was designed to transcend our stylistic leanings, creating a space of minimum bias that functions as a neutral environment for creative thinking. By removing hierarchy and physical barriers between desks, we allow for continuous collaboration.
Our philosophy extends beyond our own walls into the urban fabric of Bengaluru. Through engagements like the 'Ellara Nelle' exhibit, organized with WRI India, we interact directly with citizens to share urban design ideas and gather feedback. We treat public forums and panel discussions, such as those at FOAID, as essential sites for contributing to the broader discourse on architecture in India.
This commitment to substance over superficiality is what drives our recognition, including our placement on the AD100 2025 list. For us, a bold design is not about skin-deep aesthetics. It is about logic, intent, and meaning. When you visit our studio, you engage with a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and partners who apply this same rigorous, narrative-driven approach to every project, whether it is a private villa or a large-scale institutional campus.
