Yoga is more than movement. Our sessions integrate pranayama and meditation to quiet the mind, improve your focus, and help you find balance beyond the physical postures.

This video shows some of the key breathing and cleansing techniques we practice. This includes Anulom Vilom, Bhramari with Yoni Mudra, Kapalbhati, and even the Shatkarma practice of Jalneti for nasal cleansing.

Pranayama is the bridge between the physical and mental aspects of yoga. We practice various breathing exercises, like Nadi Shodhana, before resting in Savasana to absorb the benefits.

A class is never just about asanas. We always dedicate time to Pranayama, or breathwork. Here, students are practicing Anulom Vilom, a technique to balance energy and calm the mind.

This clip shows our pranayama practice, moving from alternate nostril breathing to Bhramari (humming bee breath), and concluding with deep relaxation in a darkened room.

After an intense asana practice, we cool down with calming pranayama and meditation. This helps to bring the heart rate down and transition the mind into a state of peace.

Trataka, or candle-gazing, is a powerful meditation technique we use to improve concentration and bring stillness to the mind. The session ends with Savasana for complete relaxation.

Here, the class is fully engaged in a pranayama session. We practice techniques like Anulom Vilom and Bhramari to regulate our life force energy, or prana.

A complete yoga session involves movement and stillness. After working through asanas, we sit for pranayama and meditation to quiet the mind and find our center.

We end some sessions with Trataka, or candle-gazing meditation. This powerful practice helps improve focus, calms the mind, and brings a deep sense of inner peace. It’s a beautiful way to close our practice.

About Beyond the Pose: Pranayama & Meditation

In these sessions, I focus on the stillness that follows movement. Whether we are practicing Anulom Vilom to balance your energy or using Trataka for concentration, the goal is to calm your nervous system. You will find that these breathing and meditation practices are just as demanding as a physical flow, teaching you patience and focus that stays with you long after you leave the mat.
