About this collection

Performing on a global stage requires more than just technique. When I present Kathak in venues like the Embassy of India in Beijing, I adapt my choreography to the local context while staying true to the classical form. It is about building a bridge between the audience and our ancient rhythm, whether they have seen Kathak before or not.

Bringing Kathak to the World

Sharing the gift of Kathak across borders is a profound privilege. Whether it is a performance at the International Day of Yoga or an intimate workshop in a new city, my focus remains on the guru shishya parampara and the authenticity of the art. When I travel, I do not just perform. I create experiences. My recent work in China, including 'Aikyam - Being One with Nature', involved creating a piece that resonated with the local landscape and the arrival of rain, making the classical form accessible to international Rasikas.

My Workshop Approach

My workshops are not just about learning steps. We start with the basics of posture and rhythm, then move into the 'bols' and the storytelling aspect of abhinaya. I design these sessions for all levels, ensuring that even those new to Indian classical dance can grasp the essence of the rhythm. If you are looking to host a cultural workshop or a dance recital, I work closely with organizers to ensure all technical requirements are met, whether the venue is a small cultural centre or a larger auditorium.

I have spent over two decades living and breathing Kathak, and today, I take that passion beyond local studios to stages and workshops worldwide. I feel truly blessed to connect with Rasikas across different cultures, sharing the ancient rhythm that has been my life's journey.
