When I perform a solo, it is a conversation between the rhythm and the audience. For a 30 to 45-minute set, I focus on a structured sequence: starting with a traditional Vandana to set the tone, followed by the technical precision of Nritta, and concluding with expressive Abhinaya. If you are hosting an event, please ensure your venue has a wooden floor or a designated dance surface, as the impact of the ghungroos relies on proper acoustics to be heard clearly.

My solo performances are rooted in the guru-shishya parampara, but I adapt them to fit the context of your event. Whether you are hosting an intimate cultural gathering, a corporate function, or a traditional ceremony, the performance is designed to engage your guests.

What Goes Into a Solo Set

• The Technical Foundation: I start with a Vandana, an invocation to set an auspicious tone, followed by pure dance (Nritta). This is where you see the technical training—intricate footwork, rapid spins, and rhythmic control.
• Storytelling (Abhinaya): This is the heart of the performance. I often perform pieces based on mythological or spiritual narratives, such as scenes from the Ramayan or Mahashivaratri, bringing characters to life through expression and gesture.
• Audio & Production: For these solo sets, I perform to studio-mastered tracks that ensure high-fidelity sound. I manage the audio cues myself, so you do not need to worry about the technical side of the music playback.

• Space Requirements: While I can perform in various settings, a stage area with a wooden or non-slip floor is essential for safety and acoustics. Please ensure a private green room is available for costume changes and makeup.
• Preparation: I arrive early to conduct a sound check and align with your event coordinator. If you have a specific theme for your event, let me know in advance so I can tailor the choreography and costuming to complement your vision.
