We bring the depth and discipline of Bharatanatyam to schools, universities, and cultural platforms through immersive, interactive sessions designed to make classical art accessible.

The poster for my first workshop with Spicmacay, an organization dedicated to promoting Indian classical arts among youth. It was a dream come true to be empanelled with them.

Feedback from students at Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi University, after a workshop on Bharatanatyam and abhinaya. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm for learning the nuances of expression.

Conducting a lecture-demonstration at a high school in Goa as part of a government collaboration to promote Indian classical dance.

Interacting with students in Goa after the workshop. Answering their questions and seeing their curiosity is one of the most rewarding parts of these sessions.

A group photograph with the wonderful students in Goa. It was a pleasure to share the art of Bharatanatyam with so many bright young minds.

Speaking to the students during the lecture-demonstration. I focused on making the art form relatable and accessible to them.

Look at all those raised hands. The students were so engaged and eager to participate, which made the workshop a huge success.

Speaking at the Hindi Diwas event. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase how stories and poems in Hindi can be beautifully adapted into Bharatanatyam.

A moment of performance during my lecture-demonstration at the University of La Reunion, showing how 'abhinaya' can convey the meaning of words.

About Workshops & Collaborations

My workshops go beyond surface-level demonstrations. We dive deep into Abhinaya (facial expression) and Talam (rhythm), helping students understand not just how to move, but how to tell a story through movement. Whether we are in a school hall or a university auditorium, I focus on making the technical aspects of classical dance relatable to a modern audience.

Our Approach to Classical Dance Education

Learning is a two-way street. When we conduct workshops—whether for Spicmacay in Kota or a cultural lecture-demonstration at the University of La Reunion—the goal is to bridge the gap between ancient tradition and the contemporary student.

What We Cover

  • The Language of Mudras: We break down the Hastakas (hand gestures) that form the alphabet of Bharatanatyam, showing students how to communicate without speaking.
  • Understanding Rhythm: We explain the mathematics behind Talam and how Jathis (rhythmic sequences) create the structure of a dance piece.
  • Abhinaya and Emotion: This is often the most engaging part for students. We teach how to project subtle emotions—devotion, joy, or sorrow—which is a skill that translates well beyond the dance floor.

Tailored for Every Audience

We understand that one size does not fit all. For school children, we focus on the joy of movement and cultural appreciation. For university students or specialized dance groups, we delve into the technical rigor of Araimandi (the half-sit posture) and the history of the art form. We have successfully collaborated with institutions like Janki Devi Memorial College and international consulates to deliver content that resonates with the local cultural context, ensuring the session is educational, interactive, and memorable.
