At Natesha Nrithyalaya, dance is more than movement. It is a shared journey of devotion and belonging where every student finds their place in our Kalakutumba.

A group photo from our Bharatha Muni Jayanti celebration. It was an insightful day for all our students, connecting them to the ancient roots of Natyashastra.

The auspicious lamp lighting ceremony at our Sadhana Classical Dance Festival. We begin every event by seeking blessings for our performers.

As a guru, it is my privilege to light the lamp and inaugurate our Sadhana Dance Festival. This ritual marks the beginning of a celebration of our students' hard work.

A behind-the-scenes moment from our Saraswati Pooja. Here, a student gets her 'alta' (red dye) applied to her feet, a traditional practice for dancers.

A photo from our annual Saraswati Pooja, where we seek the blessings of the goddess of knowledge and arts. The entire Kalakutumba comes together for this celebration.

We celebrated Bharathamuni Jayanti, honoring the author of the Natyashastra. This event, held with the Tapasya Cultural Trust, was a wonderful learning experience for our students.

Our little Meera Krishna's first stage experience. It is heartwarming to see our youngest students embrace the stage with such joy and confidence.

The team behind our "Krishna" dance drama. A production of this scale is a collaborative effort, and I am grateful for every artist and supporter.

A moment where I had the privilege of addressing the audience at our Sadhana Dance Festival. It is my honor to present the hard work of my talented students.

A group photo of my wonderful students during the Bharatha Muni Jayanti Uthsava. Seeing them together, dedicated to the art, fills my heart with pride.

About Our Art Family (Kalakutumba)

Joining our Kalakutumba means more than just showing up for weekly lessons. Whether you are a complete beginner learning your first adavus or an experienced dancer refining your abhinaya, you become part of a support system. We prioritize consistency and mutual growth, which is why we ask for a commitment to our twice-weekly training schedule to maintain the rhythm and discipline required for classical arts.

Natesha Nrithyalaya is not just a school; it is a community. Since I founded this space in 2016, my goal has been to create an environment where the pressure of performance is replaced by the joy of practice. We call this our Kalakutumba, or art family.

Learning in a Supportive Environment

We understand that starting a new art form can be intimidating. Our classes in NRI Layout, Kalkere, are designed to make you feel comfortable from day one. You will find students of all ages here, from little ones taking their first steps to adults rediscovering their passion. We focus heavily on foundation work—the adavus—to ensure that your technique is built on strength rather than speed.

Beyond the Classroom

Performance is a vital part of our training. It builds confidence and allows our students to experience the true essence of Bharatanatyam. Our festivals, like the Sadhana Classical Dance Festival, and our grand annual recital, Nrithya Milanam, give every student a professional stage to showcase their hard work. These are not just shows; they are celebrations of the hours spent in the studio.

Our Values

We believe in the concept of sadhana, which is relentless practice done with love. When you join us, you are not just signing up for a class. You are entering a circle of dancers who celebrate each other's milestones, share in the festivities like Saraswati Pooja, and grow together as artists. We welcome you to bring your dedication, and we will provide the guidance to help you find your rhythm.

I am Nayana Srinivasamurthy, and I founded Natesha Nrithyalaya to build a family where art is lived, not just learned. Here, we nurture students from their first steps to stage performances, ensuring every dancer finds their rhythm and confidence within our supportive circle.
