Kids and Teens Kickboxing & MMA Classes in HSR Layout
I introduce kids from age 4 to the discipline and focus of martial arts. We focus on building coordination and self-defense skills in a safe and supportive environment.
I start training kids from 4 years old. This video shows a typical pad work session where we focus on basic boxing combinations, movement, and most importantly, having fun while learning discipline.
This is what our community looks like. I believe in creating a space where everyone, from young kids to adults, can train together and learn from each other as a team at our HSR Layout location.
A good instructor teaches students how to fight, but I believe a great one teaches them how to survive. Here I am with two of my young students at the Ippon Institute in HSR Layout.
This is a clip from a personal training session with a young student at his home. We are working on basic kickboxing pad drills to improve his form and striking accuracy.
This is one of my students, Aniruth, showing great progress on the heavy bag after just one month of training. It's amazing to see their kickboxing skills and power develop so quickly.
About Kids & Teens Training
You do not need to worry about your child's current fitness level or experience before they start. My approach for younger students is strictly about building respect, coordination, and discipline through structured pad work and drills. We treat martial arts like a game of chess, teaching them to think before they act and move with purpose, rather than just swinging wildly.
My training program at the HSR Layout and Hosa Road studios is built on the belief that martial arts provides more than just physical exercise. For kids as young as four, the first few months are about learning how to follow instructions, maintain their stance, and respect their training partners. We use Dutch Kickboxing techniques and emphasize the Philly Shell defensive style, which teaches them to manage distance and stay composed.
For teenagers, the curriculum shifts toward building resilience and technical skill. We work on powerful combinations and defensive mechanics that require both mental focus and physical conditioning. This is not a daycare program. It is a serious introduction to MMA and kickboxing where students learn how to defend themselves effectively. Whether your goal is to help your child improve their fitness, learn self-defense, or gain confidence, my team and I provide the structure and guidance to make it happen. We train in a non-AC environment, utilizing interlocking puzzle mats for safety, and keep class sizes manageable to ensure every student gets the feedback they need to improve.

I believe that fighting is a strategy, much like a game of chess. I teach my students to leave their ego at the door, stay calm, and focus on being better than they were yesterday. My goal is to equip every child and teen who walks into my gym with the discipline and resilience they need, both on the mats and in life.
