Architecture is more than building walls and roofs; it is about creating sanctuaries that breathe. This collection explores the core principles that define our practice, where every line, light, and landscape is carefully considered to craft spaces that feel alive.

This diagram outlines my core design philosophy, 'Architecture of Resonance'. It shows how I create value through sensory richness, timelessness, and beauty, all viewed through the prism of ecological consciousness and cultural specificity.

At the heart of my practice is a deep belief in thoughtfulness, innovation, and passion. This video offers glimpses into various projects, illustrating how my creative process is guided by an immersion in the way people inhabit and enjoy space.

'Whispers by Chalets' is a cluster of two cottages nestled gently into a hillside facing the Himalayas. The design uses local stone and wood to create cozy, rustic retreats that are in harmony with their majestic mountain setting.

From the archives: a look at 42 Westend Greens in New Delhi. This project showcases my early explorations in blending landscape design with architecture, creating serene water bodies and outdoor spaces that feel both grand and intimate.

A compilation of spaces from the Tree House project, showcasing the variety of experiences within a single home. From grand, open areas to intimate nooks, the design is a journey of discovery.

What is resonance? It is the power to evoke a feeling, a memory. My goal is to create an 'Architecture of Resonance', designing spaces with an expansive spirit that uplifts the human experience.

About Additional Works & Design Philosophy

At the heart of our work is what we call Listening Architecture. It is a process where we first understand the land, the sun path, and your unique way of living before drawing a single line. This approach ensures that a home in a dense urban setting functions differently than a retreat in the mountains, with each space responding to its own specific context.

The Architecture of Resonance

We define our practice through the lens of 'Architecture of Resonance.' This means designing spaces that evoke memory and emotion, where the built form interacts harmoniously with the environment. Whether we are planning a compact urban residence in Gurugram or a sprawling estate, our goal is to foster a connection between the inhabitant and the elements.

Designing with Nature

We prioritize ecological consciousness in every decision. Our design process starts with site context analysis, examining wind patterns and natural light to reduce reliance on artificial climate control. For example, in our 'Whispers by Chalets' project, we utilized local stone and timber to anchor the cottages into the Himalayan hillside, ensuring the structures felt like a natural extension of the landscape rather than an imposition upon it.

Materiality and Craft

We avoid mass-produced finishes. Instead, we favor materials that age with grace. We frequently work with laterite, hand-chiseled stone, and lime plaster to introduce texture and warmth. In projects like 42 Westend Greens, we employed water bodies as a central element to blur the lines between outdoor landscaping and interior architecture.

Our Process

From the initial conceptual stage to the final site supervision, we focus on technical precision and design intent. We provide comprehensive documentation, including structural coordination and GFC drawings, to ensure that the initial vision remains intact throughout the construction phase. Our approach is about creating a legacy, designing homes that remain relevant and beautiful through the passage of time.

We started Saka Studio in 1999 with a simple dream: to make architecture feel like poetry. We do not just build structures; we craft spaces that feel alive, blending traditional Indian crafts like Sanjhi cutwork with modern, sustainable design principles.
