About Core Skills: Kicking & Punching Drills
We do not waste time on flashy moves until you have the fundamentals locked in. In every class, you will use wall-assisted drills to stabilize your balance and target mitts to develop real impact power, ensuring every kick and punch is technically sound before you ever step into a sparring ring.
Taekwondo is built on repetition. When you watch a championship-level head kick, you are seeing the result of thousands of correct repetitions on kicking pads and targets. At Realistic World Taekwondo School, we strip away the shortcuts to focus on the basics: stance, balance, and rotation.
The Drill Methodology
- Foundation First: We use the wall for side kicks and roundhouse drills to ensure you are not just swinging your leg, but rotating your hip into the strike. This corrects your biomechanics, which is crucial for injury prevention.
- Impact Training: We use focus mitts and heavy shields so you feel the resistance. You need to know what it feels like to strike with intent. This builds the muscle memory required for real-world application.
- Competition Readiness: For those training for district or national tournaments, these drills transition into sparring scenarios. We replicate the pressure and timing you will face in the ring.
For Everyone
From our 5-year-old Lil' Champs to our adult fitness batches, everyone drills the basics. It builds the foundation for more advanced Poomsae forms and sparring techniques. Consistency in these drills is what separates a casual student from a medal winner.
