About Taekwondo Skills: Kicking & Board Breaking
Getting your kick right starts with the basics. Whether it is a tornado kick or a simple roundhouse, we break down the mechanics in slow motion so you understand the trajectory before adding power. You will see students of all ages learning how to channel force, not just kick hard. It is about technique over muscle every time.
Precision Over Power
Many people think Taekwondo is only about hitting hard. My classes focus on the mechanics of the movement first. You cannot generate power if your balance is off or your posture is weak. We spend a lot of time on stretching and form work to ensure that when you finally strike, it is clean, fast, and controlled.
The Meaning of Board Breaking
Breaking a board is not a trick. It is a tool for feedback. When a student steps up to break a board, they are testing their confidence and their ability to commit to a movement. If you hesitate, you will not break it. I watch my students' eyes and their stance. When they connect, they do not just break wood; they break through their own self-doubt. That is where you hear me shout 'shaabaash' from the sidelines.
Training Environment
We train in a structured environment in Patparganj and our other locations across Delhi NCR. It is a disciplined space, but it is also supportive. Whether you are a kid working toward your next belt or an adult looking to improve your reflexes, the training philosophy remains the same. We focus on:
- Kicking Accuracy: Training to hit the target correctly every single time.
- Speed and Agility: Building the explosive movement needed for competition.
- Mental Toughness: Developing the warrior spirit needed to stay calm under pressure.
