Core Taekwondo Training: Kicks, Patterns & Drills
Taekwondo is built on repetition and precision. We focus on the foundational kicks and Poomsae patterns that build a disciplined martial artist.
This video shows several of my students, from blue belts to purple belts, executing powerful kicks to break boards. This drill is a practical test of their technique, power, and focus.
A student practices a back kick, a powerful and effective technique, on a kicking pad held by an instructor. Repetition and proper form are the keys to mastering advanced kicks.
A group of my senior students practicing their form and balance in unison. This synchronized drill, focusing on holding a kicking stance, builds strength, stability, and discipline.
A look inside our daily routine. Students of various belt levels practice their basic stances and punches together, reinforcing the fundamentals that are the bedrock of all Taekwondo skills.
A female student practices a jumping front kick during a training session. This advanced technique requires coordination, timing, and explosive power, all of which we develop in our classes.
Another student works on her kicking combinations with an instructor holding a pad. This type of partner drill helps improve accuracy, speed, and reaction time.
About Core Training: Kicks, Patterns & Drills
We follow the official Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) syllabus for all belt progression. You will spend your sessions on the specific mechanics of Jireugi (punching) and Makgi (blocking) drills on our foam mat setup. It is a systematic, step-by-step approach where we insist on proper stance and hip rotation before moving to the next level.
Building the Foundation
Most people see the kicks and the speed in tournaments, but the real growth happens in the controlled, repetitive drills of our training sessions. At Taureaux, we ensure that every student moves through the belt ranks with a genuine understanding of the art. Whether you are a child starting as a white belt or an adult joining for fitness, the method remains the same: discipline first, technique second.
Patterns and Precision
Poomsae (patterns) are not just a sequence of moves. They are a test of balance, focus, and breath control. When we teach patterns, we force students to slow down and acknowledge their body's position in space. This attention to detail prevents injury and builds the athletic base needed for sparring later on.
Our Training Environment
We operate out of community halls in JP Nagar and Basavanagudi, using high-quality 20-25mm EVA foam mats to ensure safety during the high-impact drills. Our batches are designed to foster a sense of shared effort. You will see students of different ages and belt levels training alongside each other. This creates a focused environment where the group energy pushes everyone to stay consistent.
We do not prioritize flashiness. You will sweat, you will practice stances until your legs ache, and you will learn the discipline required to stand tall. If you are looking for a place where shortcuts are discouraged and consistency is the only way forward, this is where you start.
