Authentic Homemade Iyengar Snacks
Made fresh only after you order, our snacks bring the traditional taste of Iyengar kitchens straight to your table.
This video shows the traditional preparation of Boondi for making Boondi Ladoo. Our cooks expertly pour the batter through a ladle into hot oil to create perfect little pearls, which are then soaked in sugar syrup.
This is how we prepare our fried snacks for large orders and catering events. One of our senior cooks is frying a batch of sweets in a large kadai, ensuring every piece is cooked evenly and traditionally.
A glimpse into our kitchen during a busy catering event. Here, our cook is preparing a large quantity of a traditional fried delicacy, following the same methods we have used for decades to maintain authentic taste.
The art of traditional cooking involves patience and skill. This image shows our cook carefully frying sweets in a large pan, a process that has been passed down in our family business.
Frying snacks in large quantities requires a skilled hand. We use large, heavy-bottomed pans to ensure even heating and perfect results for every batch of our homemade savouries.
About Homemade Snacks
We do not believe in mass production. Every batch of our butter chakli, nippattu, or laddoo is prepared only after you place your order, using recipes my father perfected in 1986. Because we fry in fresh batches of groundnut or sunflower oil rather than bulk alternatives, you get a clean, non-greasy taste that keeps our customers coming back.
Traditional Iyengar Preparation
Our kitchen follows a strictly Sattvic approach. This means every snack we make is 100% free of onion and garlic. We focus on traditional techniques that emphasize natural flavors, using premium Byadgi chilies for heat and pure Nandini ghee for our sweets.
Why We Cook on Order Only
Unlike shops that keep items on the shelf for weeks, we operate on a fresh-to-order basis. When you order from us, our team—led by veterans like Rajanna—starts the process specifically for your delivery. This ensures that the shelf life of our dry powders is maximized and the texture of our deep-fried snacks remains crisp rather than stale.
Our Daily & Festival Staples
- Butter Chakli: Made with high-quality butter, ensuring a crumble that is never oily.
- Madras Mixture: A balanced mix of Ompudi, fried groundnuts, and curry leaves.
- Nippattu: Crispy discs fried to a perfect golden brown, seasoned with cumin and sesame.
- Festival Sweets: From authentic Bele Holige to soft dry jamoons, we use jaggery and pure ghee to maintain the nutritional integrity and taste of our heritage recipes.
Quality Commitment
We source our ingredients directly from farms and process them in-house. We do not use palm oil or reuse frying oil until it turns dark, which is a common shortcut in the industry. Whether you need snacks for a housewarming, a festival puja, or just your evening tea, you are getting food prepared with the same care we use for our own family meals.
RVR Foods
My name is Vinay. I lead our kitchen, continuing the path my father, Ranganath Iyengar, set in 1986. We aren't a factory; we are a family of cooks like Rajanna and Shankarnna who take pride in our work. We cook with the same devotion as we do for our own home pujas.
